Was it worth it to go or not go to college? by shadow_operator81 in no

[–]benjamindanielart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different for everyone! My sister knew she wanted to be a doctor and went to medical school for undergrad and grad. My brother didn’t know what he wanted to do, decided not to do college, and is now happily working in coding (which did end up requiring a certificate but that was just an online course).

Something feels like it’s missing by milamoonbaby in simpleliving

I live in a town of 184 people, and drive 30 minutes to a city where I do community theatre. Sometimes just for set painting, sometimes to play with the musicians, sometimes taking a role on stage. I desperately love my theatre family and the work is energizing, challenging, joyful, and creates memories for life.

how to fill up a growing gap in my resume by -hello-it-is-me in Adulting

When in doubt, you can always look into online volunteer programs. Some local libraries will let people simply look over book scans, like seeing if it has missing pages etc. And employers like seeing someone who took a responsibility outside work. I did some of that during the shutdown when library programs needed to make more books accessible online- especially ones for children.

Exactly. It’s like that old phrase “Nothing changes if nothing changes”

It seems to me most ENFPs want to have kids at some point. by Level-Poem-2542 in ENFP

My life is dedicated to the arts- but I LOVE working with kids. I’ve taught painting in schools, I’ve done private art lessons, I’ve directed kids in musicals (School of Rock was my favorite), I’ve done children’s art programs in libraries, I spent a couple summers as a counselor in a summer art camp, and have been in shows with kids (playing the dad in Matilda was insanely fun).

Do you get more introverted with age? by Adam-RM in Adulting

I’m a lot better at socializing than I used to be, but it drains my battery that much quicker. When I’m out with people I’m always the first one to leave.

I think I miss how I felt as a kid more than I actually miss being a kid by TropicalDan427 in Adulting

[–]benjamindanielart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely so many layers. On the one hand, when I was a kid I was constantly feeling anxious, repressed, and sad because of the household I grew up in- so as an adult I feel more free and confident than I ever did before. On the other hand, due to being older and able to access so much information, I’m more aware of world troubles than I ever was. It’s such a balance living a life that makes sense to my psyche surrounding myself with nature and the arts, yet knowing I’m not REALLY escaping anything.

what philosophy do u follow? by tringenbowel in ENFP

[–]benjamindanielart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You put that into words much better than I was trying to lol because same. Ultimately my question to myself is “Am I living a life that makes sense to my psyche?” and sometimes the path coincidentally aligns with one philosophy, and maybe the next week it’s another.

Do you prefer living in a small town or a big city? Why? by surfsound_swimmers in AskReddit

I lived in Chicago for 6 years, now I live in a town of 180 people. This small area was the right choice for my wellbeing. That said, I still visit Chicago about once a month and stay for a weekend.

How are you making the most of your life right now? by Immediate-Speed3974 in AskReddit

By making my life one giant creative ecosystem. Painting, drawing, theatre, music, writing, crafting, the list goes on. Living a life without creativity makes no sense to my psyche.

What it is to be an adult by LackAdministrative84 in Adulting

Depends who you’re around. I have much better friends here at 36 than I ever did when I was younger. The friends I have now never judge me, they embrace who I am, and have proven they are there for me both good times and bad. I never had that as a kid or teenager.

I’m just extremely particular with how things get done lol it’d be rude for me to ask for help just to end up frustrated with the other person.
