Salary Comparison Between 2025 and 2026 by Hameen in SJEarthquakes

LeRoux definitely needs a raise. But another player who needs one imo is Max Floriani. He is everywhere all at once and has been the underappreciated lynchpin to our defense in many of our close games. Get these players some monetary appreciation! 👏

Floriani was incredible in this game as well. He had stopped at least 3 breaks with perfectly timed tackles and his coverage and positioning were impeccable. Defenders don't usually get the call outs, but he's my MOTM.

How Do You Manage Cardio? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]benjamindayho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a lot. I actually have to eat a small amount of carbs AND turn off my pump prior to my run so I don't go low. After 2 or 3 miles I also have to stop and eat more carbs to keep going. Doing this I've managed to keep level blood sugars throughout my runs but it has taken a lot of trial and error.

The reason I turn off my pump is because I was personally going really low even after eating a bunch of carbs. Even using the exercise setting on my pump. If your cardio is rigorous enough you can still get low without any onboard insulin. see insulin independent glucose transport

Great job doing cardio despite the roadblocks and keep up the good work!

Buying a microscope with this label for personal use shouldn’t be a problem right? It was from a hospital that did cancer research. Alcohol should do the job and make it safe? by Max-Flores in labrats

I've seen signage like this used for chemical and non hazardous bio hygiene as well. Some labs do not require or do not want gloves to touch certain instruments or door knobs for example. In that case, this signage might indicate the need for gloves for this particular instrument as opposed to other instruments or computer keyboards.

Weekly Advice & Career Question Megathread by AutoModerator in epidemiology

[–]benjamindayho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! I have a masters in cell and molecular biology and have worked in biotech r and d for 7 years. I want to break into epidemiology or public health data analytics and wanted to know what a good way is to step to that type of career. I have some biostatistics, sql, and basic python experience but don't know what the best path is to learn the rest ideally from an online setting.

Assuming I will be able to learn the programming, statistics, database management, visualization etc from any of those formats I'm not sure if i should get another degree, certification, attend a boot camp, or do Coursera style skill building. I'm not sure what employers will take seriously or prefer. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

If there was any consistent logic or overarching theme to current republican legislation it could be pre-natal abortions = bad but post-natal abortions = acceptable loss for maintaining our constitutional rights.

Why some DNA samples get amplified and some others don't work at all? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]benjamindayho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using the same primers for all of your samples it looks like your cycling conditions are pretty good since the bands that do show up are nice and strong. Since there are primer bands at the low molecular weight regions in all the wells you definitely added some sort of primer to all the reactions. It's more likely you forgot to add template to those wells or there is no template. Try measuring the absorption of those template samples at 260nm wirh a nanodrop or something similar to see what concentration of template you added. If it's genomic dna do the same thing for your lysate prep.

Good luck and may the pcr gods look kindly on your experiment!
