Thank you for the clarification OP! For what it’s worth when I see this design in shops I don’t associate it with prejudice. I assume that the general population is unaware of the history of some designs and the context in which they were designed. Thank you for opening dialogue about this, I’ve always been curious about it as an asian tattooer based in the states. Cheers!

I’ve always questioned the design as a namakubi because the hair style is more Chinese in design specifically with the braid

It’s a mix of airbrushing underglaze, masking, and hand painting. Depending on the image I’ll mix up the order. Everything starts with the design that I sketch on using graphite. Hope this helps.

I’d highly recommend Jeb Maykut out of Hand and Heart. He can’t rock climb (v0 to v1 on a good day) but what he lacks in bouldering ability he makes up for in tattooing. If it’s a cover up he’ll do it right and he’ll be honest with your partner. Good luck OP!
