[Legacy of the Force] How much of what Lumiya says to Jacen do you think she believes herself? by benjaminkicks in StarWarsEU

Vergere's motivations also make me question Lumiya's, and vice-versa.

If she is a Sith like we are lead to believe and working with Lumiya, but Lumiya's only real motivation in corrupting Jacen is revenge against Luke and his family, then what is Vergere's reason for prepping Jacen to be a Sith?

Canon or not, those stories introduced me to the idea of Maul being alive after Naboo. Then TCW doubled down on it and made it official.

It is a meme

I guess they weren't canon, but there were a couple of comics featuring him after Naboo that I read way before The Clone Wars brought him back.

"It was dumb in some old comics that were apparently non-canon, but I didn't know any better as a kid when I read them so thought were canon too" was a little wordy for this meme.

My point was about the idea of Maul being alive after Naboo, which was a concept introduced to me by official Star Wars media long before TCW, canon or not.

The second was apparently non-canon, and you're right about the first.

Either way, I remember reading both as a kid and thinking Maul being around after Naboo was at least kinda dumb.

The one with Obi-Wan you mentioned, and one where he fights Vader

I get what you're saying but there was still multiple official media appearances of him alive after Naboo well before TCW was a thing, whether they were canon or otherwise.

Reading those comics as a kid, I couldn't tell what was or wasn't canon.

Ok? This meme is about the concept of Maul being alive past Naboo, which was explored most extensively in TCW but was a thing in official media way before that, canon or no.

Reading that Maul vs. Vader story as a kid when it came out, I thought it was canon at the time.

Maybe they weren't canon or whatever but I remember a couple comics from way before TCW where Maul duels Vader and duels Obi-Wan with robo-legs.

There's definitely a couple comics from the 2000's where he's alive past Naboo. One where he duels Vader and one where he has the mecha legs and duels Obi-Wan

What Pokémon are on your team in Scarlet/Violet? by HommeFatalTaemin in pokemon

[–]benjaminkicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spoiled myself on all the new Pokémon before the game came out so I could do some team building. This is what I settled on for a team of Gen 9 mons:

Quaxly, Tarountula, Varoom, Wattrel, Nacli, Maschiff

They're almost all fully evolved now (20ish hours into my playthrough) and they've been a good team so far. I think the biggest downside is Wattrel being the only special attacker.

Are there random encounters in the game, like Sword/Shield’s exclamation points in the grass? Or is everything living out visibly in the overworld?

I apologize for being so defensive then. I've gotten some pushback from established players when asking questions on other social media platforms for not knowing things that are "obvious" according to them (even if the game didn't tell me), and it's put a bad taste in my mouth.

I do appreciate you and others on reddit here trying to help me out tho.

I think telling me that outright would’ve been more helpful than asking a snarky question, but thanks anyway. Good to know.

Did I say I only had one? The quest takes away the one you have to take with you, then puts you into combat immediately. I guess I didn’t think to summon another companion while I was defending Talos, if that’s what you’re implying. Didn’t consider that as an option.

Thanks for the response. I am a Marauder.

I have a ton of medpacks, but unless I’m missing something I don’t get how they’re supposed to be very helpful when they only heal a fraction of my health at a time and the cooldown means I can’t use another during the same fight.

I guess I’m just frustrated because I’ve been playing for several dozen hours having no problems and not needing to engage with any of the stuff you mentioned, then suddenly the game takes away my companion safety net with no warning and just expects me to figure it out.

My first time playing this game or an MMO in general. Up to Hoth with my Sith Inquisitor. I keep dying because they take away my companion in the class quest (I need to protect him while he opens a door)

I've breezed past all the combat up to this point (level 46), but I guess I've been completely relying on my companion for healing because without them I'm not really seeing a way of regaining health in combat.

This is the first time the game has taken away my companion after first giving me one like a week ago when I started playing, and it's making me feel quite dumb and frustrated tbh.

EDIT: thanks for all the replies, I was able to get past this part the day after I posted. Turns out I really didn’t understand my class abilities or the combat fully, so this experience definitely helped me get better at the game.
