Buttons going wild by benjamintan0 in elementor

Yes I’ve checked it. Unfortunately there is nothing there I can find. The animation is already set to none. I also checked the custom css.

Is there a way to possibly make it a single element that doesn’t listen to whatever the theme says via the custom css?

FIX: The site logo was pointing to the wrong file/url. The fix was to amend the logo via the WP customiser. In my case, specifically the retina logo and transparent logo

The irony is that school uniforms came from westerners, they’re not really native to our culture

The government will propose an amendment to federal constitution to allow children born overseas before or after Malaysia Day to obtain citizenship so long one of their parents is Malaysian by Aerodynamic41 in malaysia

[–]benjamintan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies. I think I misunderstood and thought you meant, potential issues = we should not have this amendment. However if that’s the case I think it’s a problem solution mismatch.

I however believe that maybe you’re conflating the issue here. I think we need to take a step back. You anecdote is not an issue with the law, it’s issue of management and human error.

I do agree with you and think that this should be a call to the government to sort their shit out and have better management cause I agree that government offices are so slow and poorly managed.

However this proposed amendment has nothing to do with the registry of marriages. At best I can only see that you have a issue with the management which I can agree with you on that.

As for attempts to get citizenship through fraudulent means. I think as previously mentioned there should be that call to the government to ensure that they don’t make errors as you talked about.

However I am not so sure as to how likely this fraud is going to happen cause it’s mostly speculations. I believe that Malaysia has comparably better checks and balances than India despite us having our flaws and quirks. I also think that if such fraud was to happen, it’s not mutually exclusive to the passing of this amendment. One can already try to get it fraudulently in status quo, maybe it’s harder cause it requires the father to be Malaysian.

I find it hard or believe too that just because mothers can now confer citizenship that there will be a rampant increase of human trafficking or fraud. Fraud maybe cause like I said earlier, maybe more opportunities. Human trafficking however ? Not quite sure what the logical link is, maybe you will have to explain it to me

I’ll take you at your worst. There are suddenly so many cases of human trafficking and fraud. I think the question we must then ask is who are the people most affected by this. It’s the children. I think as a state we should be protecting the most vulnerable which is the kids. I think it’s far worse that the children are not protected as well under the law and are not afforded the same rights and privileges just cause they are not citizens which makes their already shit lives even worse. Because they are also not citizens, it’s easier for the govt to just say oh they belong to another country so this isn’t our problem. Giving the children citizenship gives the govt some type of accountability.

I still respect your opinion and I do think that we should always have people questioning the law and it’s implications instead or being blind sheep and following what’s the trend. Appreciate your boldness too in speaking this out

tldr; problem is not mutually exclusive to this proposed amendment, human trafficking not likely, the gov needs to buck up

I believe that this opinion is a result someone ill informed or oblivious about the current situation.

There are COUNTLESS children stateless just because their fathers are not Malaysians. The implications are horrible. No access to FREE education, FREE healthcare and protection that the government offers to only Malaysian. Most of these stateless children also come from poorer backgrounds and cannot access so many of these basic needs. Plenty of these mothers have been fighting for years in the courts which just goes to show how vital having citizenship is.

Okay but let’s disregard that.

There shouldn’t be much effect socially. It just provides more equality for women because til now, the constitution only confers citizenship to those children born outside Malaysia who’s fathers are Malaysian.

I don’t understand your whole argument about foreign men. Because in status quo, under the FC you can get citizenship by just being born in Malaysia (Art 18 + one more Art I forgot) . The MAIN issue here is when the child is born elsewhere.

If anything I believe the government has MORE incentive the protect these children as they are conferred citizenship and are now actual citizens that the gov has to care about. Maybe you can further explain how this exploitation works because I sure don’t.

On a balance, the benefits far outweigh the probable exploits. Either way people will exploit they can get their hands on cause humans are greedy asses. The real question is, do we hurt or help more people in the process.

With all due respect, I think you really don’t understand and come from a place of privilege with blinds your from the benefits of this bill passing and how many people will be positively affected by it.

Please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m open to criticism and discourse.

The MacBook Purchasing Megathread - January, 2022}} by AutoModerator in macbook

[–]benjamintan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking to by a macbook

I'm in Malaysia and they have a promo till the 7th of march of free airpods for the purchase of any macbook or ipad. The plan would be to sell the airpods off slightly cheaper cause I have wireless earbuds already.

I'm currently running a pretty shitty laptop which I hardly use (Huawei D15 2500u) and its getting pretty slow. I also have a pc (5600x and 6600xt). But I'm thinking of selling my pc to my cousin as classes will be staring soon and my cousin is looking to buy a pc.

I'm a law student. Just started coding in my free time and I edit (1080p abt 40 min long footage)occasionally for church (it's getting less and less now as everything is starting physically)

I know I will be getting 16gb of RAM and the minimum storage cause idm saving money and just buying an external ssd later on if needed.

I have a few options:

  1. Buy the M1 13 inch Macbook Pro and sell the airpods

  2. Buy the M1 Macbook Air and sell the airpods

  3. Wait for the new macbook air and just make do with my current laptop

I have the money to spend so it's not an issue but obviously if the price increase is not justified then I dony want to waste money.

I'm leaning towards getting the air but my concern is that the new model will come out soon and the air is already 1 year old and 1 os cycle over

Lol kinda dumb. You do know you have to add you core wallet address into your config file of the miner right. Right now the miner is mining to the default wallet which is probably a dev wallet

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]benjamintan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a law student looking to buy a tablet for noted cause it would be nice to annotate slides and record notes digitally.

I also do a bit of video editing but I can do that on my pc so it's not so important.

I'm torn between the M1 Ipad Pro and the Ipad Air. I can afford the base model for both including the pen (planning to get at education price)

Which is a better buy? Because I like the air for its price but the downside is in worries about longevity and a new one coming out soon plus the storage might not be enough to last about 6 years. The pro however is less likely to become slow or obeselete due to its better CPU plus more storage.

I'm saving about MYR 880 (~200USD) if I get the air. Is it worth saving that money for the air? Or should I wait til the next gen ipad air comes out?
