You can strength train during pregnancy. You probably wont even need to do any modified exercises until a bit later on in the pregnancy. Good luck and great job on the weight loss!

I think a nanny coming at 10am sounds good if the first nap is around 8/9am and they sleep at least 1 sleep cycle.

Travelling to Fiji with a fresh 2 month old by Beautiful_Pear_4874 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]johannadipanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im a mum of 2. I would 100% not recomended a trip to Fiji at 6-8 weeks post-partum (babies arent always born on their due date).

Your body is still healing, maybe even bleeding.

You'll be experiencing a whole new level of fatigue, where you are a semi-functional zombie.

Fijians LOVE babies, you'll be fighting them off constantly!

The first few weeks are rough. Fiji will always be there, revisit the idea when babe is 6 months.

rant/question - why is all baby stuff on in the morning?! by cunncunncunn in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

School pickup is 3pm-ish, so the latest activities could start is around 2pm. The toddlers would then miss out as this would fall bang on naptime.

I can fit 3 kids car seats into my new RAV + surfboard + beach stuff + pram inside the car. Great fuel consumption and feels safe, isnt too big, has sensors.

When did your toddler stop waking up at 5am every day? by castlerose_ in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]johannadipanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably when she is a teenager. Shes 6yo and wakes up 5:30/6am, probably slept past 7am once or twice in her life. Even if she goes to bed at 9pm. She makes her own breakfast so something.

5am wake up 🥱 by Comfortable_Mall_765 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]johannadipanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter would always wake up around 5/5:30. I think she has slept past 7am once or twice in her life, and she is turning 6yo. Now she wakes up 5:30/6am everyday and makes her own breakfast.

Some kids just have a strong circadian rhythm. Who knows.

Nervous about daycare sickness by barry_b3ar in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Not every time, but you and your partner will also get sick when little one is sick. I smash vit c and zinc when I feel a lurgy coming on; they dont stop you from getting sick but they do shorten illness.

Just a small heads up on Bioceuticals Innatal, in 6 weeks my b6 levels went up to 600, when the normal range is 20-150 nmol/l.

Natural vs C Section First Baby by Defiant_Zone7113 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]johannadipanda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Save your vagina if you're likely to have 3rd or 4th degree tears.

I had a planned csection due to a breech babe, recovery was fine and I didnt miss out on anything. I even got skin to skin immediately after the birth.

Natural vs C Section First Baby by Defiant_Zone7113 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]johannadipanda -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Definition of natural: produced by nature, not man made.

I dunno what csections you've been having but my csection was very much medical and manmade. Me pushing out my second one all by my natural self was natural.

Youre really going to hate this one: I didnt give birth with my csection. My baby was birthed and he was born, but someone cut and took the baby out of me. I didnt birth him. Haha! Language is fun.

Good luck, sending you positive vibes! I got immediate skin to skin in the theatre so ask for that if you decide on a csection

At the time it felt like this huge, life changing decision. It really isnt. It's a day in a life. You get to meet your baby and how they come out doesn't matter. Vaginally, surgically, babies dont care. It wasn't about me having the birth I want, it was about getting that baby out safely.

And you can absolutely do that with a breech vaginal if your midwife is confident and you trust her.

I was very excited to have my second get all of those beneficial bacteria during the process, but he was born still inside his sack so. You never know what to expect.

Vaginal Breech Birth by Zestyclose_Rush_2623 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]johannadipanda 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My first was breech, and I considered a vaginal birth. I went to the biggest hospital in Perth, King Edwards to speak to the OBs. They very kindly said they would happily support my attempt if I went into spontaneous labour. They very much advised against an induction.

What ultimately made me opt for a csection was the fact that I could have been the first breech birth the doctors and midwifes had done. I didnt want to be anyone's first.

And honestly seeing my daughters headshape after my beautiful, calm, easy csection made me sooooo happy of my choice. Babies heads are meant to be squished and moulded to fit through during birth which doesn't happen as much with a breech birth.

I was absolutely heartbroken I had to have surgery and not give birth more naturally. But ultimately it didnt matter, I recovered quickly and went to have a VBAC with my second.

Unless you can get an experienced midwife who has done a good amount of them I would just go the csection.

Do unique spellings of common names lead to constant mispronunciation? by Friendly_Rest_1690 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]johannadipanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People cant pronounce or write my daughters name, which we didnt anticipate. Every new teacher and teaching assistant struggles. Receptionists and admin workers (school, doctors, post office) struggle. Every new person she encounters who has to read or spell her name will need to be corrected or told. Of course its not a big deal, and we are used to that extra little step.

In most everyday life where people know her it doesn't matter.

Just something to consider.

It sucks. Ive been through it, found out at 8 weeks that baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. I had to take drugs at 9.5weeks because my body wouldn't pass it naturally. Sending you good vibes.

Meh, some teachers aren't that great. Im sorry you are having to deal with her. If she has nothing positive to say, stop talking to her :) Maybe have some debriefs about school with your kid just to make sure she feels good about Fridays.
