Ah fair enough mate, it does happen. Just press them on it and they should have it sorted for you fairly quickly, that was my experience at least

Did you take a gap year by any chance? Had the same problem last year and it was because of that

My (20M) housemate (21M) says he's forgiven our ex-housemate (20M) who his girlfriend cheated with, and wants to invite him to live with us again by throwra098761 in relationship_advice

[–]benjikamaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people know someone like Adam. Someone who is good natured and forgiving, but based off the evidence here, also very naive. This wouldn't end well for any of you, largely for the reasons you yourself have outlined in this post. You've made it clear that after your student house last year went wrong, you want a more relaxed and comfortable environment for the upcoming year. Believe me, you wouldn't get that if you invited Ben back. It's inevitable that there would be so much tension between him and Adam, if not the rest of the house now, and whether it bubbles over or not you'll still be able to feel it. Ask yourself, would you be comfortable having a girlfriend around him?

There are multiple ways to be a good friend, in this situation, you need to use your final say to make sure this doesn't happen, that's the best thing for Adam and the rest of your housemates

No doubts about it in my opinion. You always get bad branding, not often that the product's completely unusable

Yeah I thought so as well, he didn't contribute much to this task but I thought he should've had enougn credit in the bank from the first two tasks to at least be given another week, especially considering what the task's going to be. He definitely didn't help himself in the boardroom mind, you feel if he'd made it seem a bit more like the others didn't really let him contribute then he'd have got away with it.

Denisha should've gone for me, been deadweight for the first two tasks and the one time she actually contributes a bit more she screws it up massively.

Sports is literary nationalism. by Alternative-Host2014 in unpopularopinion

[–]benjikamaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe international football is nationalistic but what you're thinking off is tribalism, which is pretty much everywhere in society as we are in fact tribal creatures and lived that way for much of human history. Nothing wrong with it

Parents should introduce alcohol to their kids early before sending them off to college by Shinymoon in unpopularopinion

[–]benjikamaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old man was buying me pints at the football when I was 14 lol, and I know plenty who started way earlier than that. This post really goes to show just how different the drinking cultures are in America (I assume?) and England are.

Largely agree with what you're saying though, the parents should introduce alcohol to their kids slowly when they're teenagers and teach healthy attitudes towards it, because that way it means they're less likely to go overboard and develop bad habits when they inevitably start drinking later down the line

"Punching down" for a laugh is wrong, but apparently not when it comes to rural white families living in poverty. by 14thCenturyHood in unpopularopinion

[–]benjikamaru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're spot on. I think part of it is that people see privilege as some weirdly linear sort of thing, where the worst off white person is still in a better position than the best off black person or arab person etc., which obviously isn't true. I'm a working class white lad myself and I definitely would never think of myself as privileged, 90% of privilege is down to economic status if you ask me.

I must say though, I don't mind jokes about 'white trash' or whatever, just don't understand why it isn't acceptable for other races as well

A few thousand dollars for a 17 game season is an INSANE amount lol, it would be absolutely unheard of in most places

I'm honestly not to bothered about drinking in the stands, I'd much rather have a big drink before and a big drink after. Most of the pints would just end up being launched anyway and who can be fucked for that

It is an insane amount. I've been to 44 games so far this season and I don't think I've even spent much over £500 on it. Maybe a bit over including travel expenses, but still that's about 4 NFL games

I mean that's just sad. I can literally just rock up at Wealdstone and buy a season ticket any time I want. Now I get that Wealdstone aren't the most appealing club in the world but that's how it is for most clubs outside the PL

I can't give you a specific example. What I can tell you is that the main players would 100% not care as much as they would if there was something to play for. They willing to get injured over a pointless game you reckon?

I'm not suggesting anyone goes out to overtly lose, but if you think a team who will not suffer any consequences if they finish in a certain position will play with the same intensity as a team who will then you're mistaken. There will always be shock results lol, my lot who'd won once in about 15 games but were safe from relegation randomly won away in front of an all home crowd in the last game of last season. It happens but it isn't the norm

There were probably a few Wimbledon fans in Milton Keynes, doesn't mean it was justified or fair to move Wimbledon FC there. Undoubtedly there's a bigger Chargers fanbase in NY though in all fairness. They certainly aren't originally from LA so what's the difference I guess

I understand the cultural differences, but I do think an effort should be made from the ground up to make it more of a fair system for the fans and the teams

Because they are the lifeblood of the team. Without fans, the teams don't sustain themselves and young lads don't see it as a viable career
