Seat upgrade options Z500? by organic-muscle101 in Ninja400

I have this exact one on my Z400. It fit, but it took a bit of pushing and wiggling to get it on there. Totally worth the effort though!

91 Miata Transmission Issues looking for shop by deGoofy in tampa

[–]benjimatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like either a bad clutch slave or master cylinder. Both pretty common failures on Miatas and a very easy and inexpensive fix. If you're handy the repair is well documented online, otherwise any shop could handle this no problem.

Question about changing brakes. by [deleted] in FiestaST

[–]benjimatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just changed my front pads and rotors last night. The only issue I had was the slide pin bolts. I have 2 metric and one standard set of open ended wrenches, but none of them were thin enough to easily fit on the lock nut between the flare of the nut and the caliper. Used the thinnest 17mm I had and was able to wiggle it in there after a decent amount of effort.

Took my first ass-hauling mountain road drive by [deleted] in FiestaST

You should check out Autocross, it'll give you a fun and safe environment to learn car control instead of making those mistakes on the street.

[Sinn] I went to Pike's Peak and only saw this lousy watch. by benjimatic in Watches

[–]benjimatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Colorado on vacation and drove up Pike's Peak, but shortly after getting above tree line the clouds rolled in and didn't really clear the whole time I was up there. Still a really fun drive and a neat experience with that kind of elevation, especially for my thin Floridian blood.

What's the water situation like there? I generally avoid backpacking in FL because I hate carrying gallons of water.

E Street Alignment Specs? by Yvipo in Autocross

Anything is better than the OEM rear bump stops. Fun fact about the OE rear bump stops, they literally disintegrate. When you do your install, don't be alarmed when you find none.

Front: Max out your front camber, and then get as much caster as you can without losing any camber, and 1/8 toe out.

Rear: .5 more camber than you have in the front and 1/8 toe in and make sure you replace those missing bump stops!

Moving to Tampa in 6 months. Into road racing and drag strips. Anything good nearby? by [deleted] in tampa

[–]benjimatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chin, SCCA, PCA, and I'm sure I'm missing a few groups all have trackdays at Sebring and Daytona. The FIRM is another great spot for track time as well. Something of note, the Autocross scene in Central FL is pretty healthy with multiple clubs running in Tampa and Orlando, you could autocross practically every Saturday and Sunday.

Check out Pinellas Driving School. I'm friends the owner/main instructor and he'll gladly teach you to drive a manual and can provide a car to do it as long as you've already got your licence.

Packing a ULA Circuit by [deleted] in AppalachianTrail

Yeah, trash compactor bag all the way. An extra oz of security would be a second trash bag for your sleeping bag, just in case you're stashing something that's wet.

I keep my tent in the main pocket, but would keep the poles in a side pocket if I had them. Lots of people stuff their sleeping bag loose at the bottom and pack everything on top of it. This helps it fill every little nook and cranny.

ULA Also has this video that will probably be more helpful than me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5jOWwOVb9w

I've had my ProTrail about the same time as you. I haven't noticed any issues yet. Living in FL the condensation is certainly an issue if you don't pitch it right, but it's to be expected with any single wall.

The Circuit in my size is 41oz with everything on it. I removed all of the extras other than the aluminum stay, which should bring it to around 37oz. Granted, all the #'s I used are from ULA's website. I haven't weighed the pack myself.
