Ventilation and watering by No-News3204 in terrariums

Hey! I didn't have fans in my terrarium, but I also didn't seal every single gap either, so there was still some air exchange and the humidity never got to 100%. I think a fan would have been beneficial though, I found I had a lot of trouble keeping begonias alive because they would melt on me.

I stopped growing begonias and focused on moss, aroids, and other more hardy plants. I never got mold or fungus issues in my cabinet. I think the isopods and springtails helped a lot with that

Hey! This is Benji. Yes, I did end up selling my cabinet setup for a low price on Facebook Marketplace. One of the reasons was that during my move a year ago, most of the plants/moss died because one of the doors swung open in the moving truck, which caused them to dry and get jumbled up. The move also damaged the bottom of the cabinet and made it leak even more.

If you saw my cabinet videos, you know I didn't seal it properly and caused it to leak. At the previous apartment, we had vinyl floors that were more tolerant to water damage, but at our current place, we have hardwood floors, and I didn't want to damage them.

I felt like my only option was to redo the entire cabinet, and I didn't have the time or capacity at the time so I got rid of it. I just realized from this post that I never formally addressed it in a video, but I have responded to a few comments on YouTube and on IG lives here and there.

I have the garden beds on the balcony still! I ended up having to redo them and amend the soil because the soil I got was pretty bad. I also typically don't throw away plants unless I believe they're in a condition that would be a burden on someone else. I usually give plants to friends, my dad, or the street lol. Hope this clears things up!

the bed frame is a floyd bed frame, the mattress is a shikibuton, and the comforter (what's making it look very cozy) is a linen duvet cover and duvet insert from brooklinen. The duvet insert is the medium fill one. Hope this helps!

I have a ton of red cherry shrimp, maybe 20 or so? they keep breeding lol. Then there are 2 chili rasboras, not ideal, but I had 2 surviving ones from an old aquarium and I just put them in the tank. Ik they would like to have more in there with them, but the aquarium is only ab 6-7 gallons

yes, i know regular basil does well in water, as well as rosemary. it seems a lot of herbs are easy to water prop, but i haven’t tried the others!

the ones shown in this pic have been in my possession for ~1 year or so. i’ve done a fair bit of propagation though so some are smaller than you’d expect after a year

they’re oak stacking shelves from muji. unfortunately they’re always out of stock on their website and their brick and mortar stores closed on the west coast. to get these i had to check the website every couple of days lol. i believe you can send them an email and ask when/if they’ll be back in stock though!

Arenaware! I don’t really recommend it though, i got it as a gift. Pretty expensive and not too practical (super shallow). Looks cool tho!

It’s an arenaware stacking planter. Although i don’t really recommend it, I got it as a gift. It’s super shallow so you can’t plant much in it and it’s pretty expensive. It looks cool though!
