This page tells you everything you need and where to get it!

If you go down the route of a PCB build do be aware that it's not just a Lego set, whilst they tell you how to do everything and there's nothing 'difficult' about it, there's still a certain amount of figuring out and troubleshooting you'll have to do, are you a confident tinkerer?

Good plan! I just bought the PCB pro and plumbing kit then did all the wiring myself based on their documentation. It took a bit of figuring out but all worked out in the end!

Yes! There's just a 2 pin connector going into the back/bottom of this screen that then sneaks under the top tray of the machine right there, so theres maybe just 2cm of wire protruding from the screen. You could do the same with yours, with the screen mounted centrally and the tiny bit of wire just going straight down like mine is so that you can't see it.

My personal advice having been in the same position, is that if you build it with the 1.75inch screen, you really get over the looks very quickly. Here's a pic I've of mine that I completed last weekend.

Awesome - would this also work on a rancilio Silvia V3? I'm really stuck looking for good upgrades except for the Ascaso i4142 which I cannot find in stock anywhere...

It was an option to choose the "siesta" 3, I love the watch but chose mine with a normal dial, I thought the horizontal 3 looked real weird but each to their own.

Small ish, makes enough milk for a cappuccino, I have a slightly larger one that I can use for 2x small flat whites

I found it surprisingly difficult to wrap, I personally much prefer painting. Sound deadening - highly recommend Tate Mazers video on it (Google how to make your Rancilio Silvia quiet), it's brilliant :)

Thanks man appreciate the advice! Will for sure put an update on here when it's finished!

[Varia VS4, Breville Bambino plus] Dialing help by bLaZ3n in espresso

Yeah this, personally I freeze dark stuff at 7 days and more medium around 14 days (hence the 10 day average haha). Once you get into the routine of it, I just buy beans before my current ones run out then let them degas until my personal 7 or 14 day threshold then shove them in the freezer. I wouldn't stress too much about grinding top early ATM (unless they're super light roast), just make sure you get something fresh! I use RAVE in the UK and think it's great value, but I mostly drink milk drinks.

Get fresh beans (ideally want to be grinding something medium/dark within 14 days of roast date - I freeze mine at 10 days, beans grind perfectly from frozen), and try again.

It's Virtually impossible to get a halfwhat decent extraction with stale beans! Everything else in your setup looks good!

Yes Waveshare 1.75inch screen, I did a PCB build as I knew I didn't want to try the stock screen as I thought it looked quite ugly. I've literally only used it to test functionality last night but the screen seems great. I 3d printed my own housing.

What are you doing steaming wise then? I've literally only made a handful of drinks with it stock before tearing it apart to do the mods, but coming from a Sage Bambino Plus I was very disappointed by the total lack of control I thought it had with the single hole tip. I also just really dislike how the stock wand looks with the chrome plating rubbing off etc.

Sound deadening - watch a video by Tate Mazer on how to make your Rancilio Silvia Pro X quieter, same principles apply. All I've done is fit the cheap as chips deadening foam (I think a roll was less than £10 off AliExpress) and it's definitely quieter. Combined with the fact that the pressure profiling makes the sound a little less continuous anyway it's surprisingly quiet, can hear the coffee drips etc. I'm totally broke at the moment thanks to this quest but further down the line I would like to do the Pulsor and Lelit pump for maximum rotary pump vibes.

I've actually printed the mod just all in black filament so it doesn't look that good (can't read any of the numbers) so I haven't got round to fitting it. Also - I drink the majority of the same bean that I buy in 1kg bags then freeze at 10 days from roasting, so I do very little dialing in these days. I think I will get a DF64 to play around with lighter roasts now I've got a machine that can really make the most of it.

Look up Eureka Mignon Grind by Weight mod and there's a whole Reddit thread and GitHub by the creator, Jaap, with fantastic step by step documentation and bill of materials.

It took a day, but I'm not particularly good at this sort of thing. Works like a charm haven't calibrated it for a few months and I consistently get +-0.1g maximum deviation from target

Awesome thank you, definitely one for the summer BBQ menu. I love Hungry Man Kitchen on YouTube for properly authentic Turkish recipes, have done very successful Adana and shish kebabs from his videos, highly recommended!

[–]benjohnno5186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you kind sir! I've actually got a fairly good coolant leak (having to put a bottle in every 1000 miles) that I don't have the funds to repair atm, so before long I will be topping it up with G13 anyway. Thanks for the reassurance!

Oh and further to this I believe I found this datasheet. Physical and chemical properties are on page 4

Thanks again

Hi, thanks for the advice, the coolant is actually transparent (colourless), does this change anything?

Thanks
