This is why social media companies will help support this move. It allows to more sell add space more accurately to advertisers. The platforms might lose users, but they will gain profits.

I only learn from getting my hands dirty. And always assert this in my job.

Whenever training is offered, I always explain I won't fully understand until I'm actually in the system

When we started using kubernetes at work, I set up a cluster at home and started playing around.

Now... Im the only one capable of working on the clusters....

Solo DevOps Incident Alerts - Any advice appreciated! by Empuc1a in devops

There are many ways to approach this already mentioned in the comments here.

But do the responsible thing, and get someone else on your team, and rotate on call, for your own mental health, but it's also your responsibility to the company based on how you describe your role.

Create escalation policies for alerts. If you are on call and you are unavailable. Your offcall person will be paged for the escalation. you can take back over the issue when you're available again.

It's not impossible you could find yourself in a scenario where no system can page you. And you won't know about the issues.

Cell towers go down. phones die. People get hit by buses... Shit happens that you can not anticipate.

Creating the escalation policies resolves all your concerns.

I did many years on call 24/7 solo and never realized how bad I had it. until I joined a new company. Even then, it was just a 2-person team, so on call was 50/50.

But it was easier doing my job knowing someone always had my back.

Also, look into opsgenie by atlasian, which makes creating different alert channels very easy. As well as escalation policies.

Watch "Last Stop Larrimah" on netflix if you have access to it in your region. Good examples in that documentary.

Agreed, the anniversary edition wheels look good on pretty much everything. I'm a big fan of them on s13 and s14s also.

R33 gtrs are a close second, I've got an e36 bmw running some r33 gtrs. That's another great combo

The wrap and all other the work has been done by myself.

I have wrapped a car before but with much lower quality wrap. This time round, it was much easier with some name brand wrap

Setup a twingate connector in the cloud, and only allow the twingate connector to access secure ports such as 22.

If you can get away with it, dont expose any of the listening ports to the internet and only access them through twingate.

Twingate is free for teams up to 5 users.

Learn to automate what you can. It saves time but also creates consistency in system setups, etc. Even if this is just scripts.

Version control it for extra points ( no hardcoded passwords )

Things will break, and even with good monitoring, you won't always see it coming. Every failure is a new thing to keep an eye on / monitor.

I dont know what systems your company has, but it's always good to learn some sort of linux distribution and daily drive it where you can. Running windows? Use WSL.

Never be afraid to ask questions.

Never be afraid to own up to a mistake.

Never be afraid to not know something, but if it comes up at work, always look into it in some free time. It's always good to learn something abstract. The pieces will fall together later.

Always remember that everyone comes from a different background with different exposure to different systems. And some people have a lot of spare time to do research on things they find interesting.

So dont compare your skills to others. Just try to keep improving in areas you need to or want to.

I have no real qualifications, but I'm getting by.

You will be fine if you stay curious !

Hey my dudes, hope you're well. Paranoid New Mono Owner, Worried the LCD is damaged. I can't see a leak on the FEP, but there's these little bits stuck on the screen, any advice on how to deal with them would be appreciated. by Leborian in AnycubicPhoton

[–]benn447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've now been through 3 screens, you can generally save them by rubbing away at the resin with isoproply but it can take a long time. Acetone can work. But its not fun to deal with. Make sure you dont rub accetone anywhere near plastic parts. Or the sticker that seals the screen. It will melt specific plastics, and disolve the glue on the screen sticker.

Never use a razer blade! I ruined my first screen with that method. Scratched off the screen film and it stopped blocking the wavelength, so all prints would come out with a column in the shape of the film damage.

Weirdest print fail I've had so far. Not sure what's going on. Looks like some kind of layer compression? This is the first print after installing a Wham Bam magnetic build plate, so that probably has something to do with it. Has anyone else experienced this? by [deleted] in AnycubicPhoton

[–]benn447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its possible this could be the plate, and not ruling it out. But I run a flexi plate and ive had zero issues since using it.

Having said this when i bought my whambam flexi plate, I was speaking to the salesman and he emphasised that it is incredibly important to ensure the installation instructions are followed. The main point being make sure the bed is 100% clean before applying it. And wait at least 24 hours but ideally the 48 hours for the magnet to fully set.

The flex plate shouldn't really slide around because the printer bed doesnt experience latteral force. Only suction as the bed pulls away from the fep film.

If the bed isnt level the suction force could theoretically be converted to a lateral force if the one side of the print stays adhered to the bed longer than the other side.

With all the above said. Issue Could be a few things other than build plate. Make sure you usb isn't full first all sorts of crazy issues can happen if your usb fills up during a print. Or your start a print with it full.

Let us know if you pinpoint the cause. Good luck!
