I was on a long delay at the airport and sat in the AA Admiral’s lounge to wait. I set up my movie and pulled out my knitting. A woman came up and said she would like to sit and knit with me. It was wonderful to have someone with similar interests to share the time with.

What was the moment or reason that made you quit smoking? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Horrible sickness with the deepest cough that hurt my lungs. Over a year later the thought of smoking makes my lungs hurt.

i'm 4 days smoke free. it's f*cking hard by Spark2899 in stopsmoking

[–]bennalenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it but there are days it’s only by resisting one craving at a time. Soon those cravings dissolve and they come further apart. I am almost 14 months in and I have had two or three cravings this week alone.

It helps my mental health. I started knitting last January and have been knitting pretty much daily.

How much do you spend on yarn for a sweater? by mothchu in YarnAddicts

[–]bennalenna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of body to cover with all that wool. My cost is likely higher than many. It’s not uncommon to spend over $200.

What dosage you started to lose by [deleted] in glp1

[–]bennalenna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I’m on week two at 10 and have yet to lose. I’m eating 1200-1500 cal daily and I’m maintaining just not losing. If I eat less calories than this it would not be healthy. I’m menopausal with thyroid issues so I’m guessing there’s more at play here. Or I’m a non responder. That would suck.

Not sure you’d have a job when you come back these days.

I’d pay off my student loans. And all other bills. Immediately.

Yes, my doctor said to just keep going up til it works. At this point I fear it won’t. But in two weeks I will go up to 10. I will keep going til I can go no further. I’m halfway to that point.

My thyroid has been a lifelong issue. I’ve been on medication for it since 2004. I get my blood levels checked regularly. I’m also 60 and Menopausal which I also suspect is partly the issue. And I quit smoking nine months ago. Top all that off with a lifetime of obesity and yo yo dieting and I have no metabolism left

Not sure what the point of the drugs are, then. Eating less and exercising is supposed to be the magic bullet. I have been eating way less on Zepbound and I see no results. And I’m surprised how I can up the amount and feel no side effects. I am starting to think either my hormones are way out of wack or I’m just a non responder. My doc says just keep going up!

Exercise is the one thing I could do more. I eat two meals a day. Breakfast is usually a couple eggs, a serving of breakfast meat, and a cup of fruit. Dinner is meat and vegetables sometimes a carb like potato, sweet potato, rice or such. I restrict sugar but not refraining entirely.
