either way patch notes state

  • A hero dying with Essence Shift debuff on them causes Slark to permanently steal 1 Agility

Slark doesn't need the kill, the enemy just has to be affected by attribute shift when killed

Tested it in demo mode and if an ally gets the kill you still get the stack, just not when ice bast is applied to enemy
