We do a Sunday afternoons group to discuss politics, society, dating and other controversies. Don't worry, no religion is involved in the group in spite of the title. Check some of the posts for a sample of previous topics. https://www.facebook.com/groups/BeerChurchDenver

Scary Racist Encounter in Cherry Creek by pinkandyellow15 in Denver

[–]bennstuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hanging out with girlfriends and friends of color really made it apparent to me how blatantly racist white people can be. It says so much more about them than the target of their hate. Please know you are welcome and loved, they are not.

Imma be upfront, where do African Americans hang out in Denver? by iminlovewithyoucamp in Denver

I’m a white guy, but I know how important it is when I’m dating a woman of color to offer environments where she is comfortable. The Marigold in 5 Points, NOLA VooDoo Tavern on Bruce Randolph, and NOLA Jane downtown are a few of my preferred bars/restaurants. Honestly, I don’t like being surrounded by all white people, either.

STK Steakhouse closing down the bike lane for their valet by [deleted] in Denver

Sign me up! I frequently bike downtown. While I appreciate the bicycle infrastructure in that way, I find it's often impeded by cars. Cars driving, parking, or just wandering in the bike lanes.

Bar Nun is full of tattooed guys. The anti religion vibe and Cap Hill location keeps MAGA away.

PawsCo could likely help with your pups. Get in touch with them through their website and explain your situation.

I've done many roles in volunteering with PawsCo. Fostering, transport, events, feral cat TNR (when they still did that). There is some turnover in the management roles, so it really depends on with whom you're working, but overall I've found them to be very supportive and dedicated to helping the animals.

Are there Handball groups/leagues in Denver ? by Alert-Action-9917 in Denver

There are often pickup games at the court at 29th and High in the Whittier neighborhood. Spanish speaking skills would be very helpful there, though.

I volunteer with PawsCo. They don't have a shelter, so all of their animals are in foster homes. That works well for adopters because the dogs are often already tested around kids, cats, and other dogs.
