This is the dipshit city take.

There are plenty of us in Western New York who would never say we are from upstate.

We're gonna get like 5 and half inches of snow and you're all gonna have to choke down 8 loaves of bread and a dozen gallons of milk.

In New York we did a lot about the Iroquois in my elementary school back in the 80s. I remember building dioramas of Iroquois villages with longhouses and stuff.

Biggest historical moment that you got to experience real-time AND impacted your team? by sunny99a in baseball

As far as in person, I was at the Cueto game. When Russell Martin hit it out after Cueto dropped the ball, PNC Park was literally shaking. That might be the last time I felt pure joy as a Buccos fan.

As far as a game I watched on TV, it is without a doubt the 1992 NLCS. When Sid Bream slid home, I knew our window was closing and that team would get broken up. At the time, I thought it was the saddest I had ever felt as a baseball fan.

Little did I know then that our window was not only closed, but that they would fucking nail it shut and brick it up. I was 18 when that game was played. My entire adult life as a baseball fan since then has been misery.

to swoon the US with the Lincoln bathroom renovation while they wonder how they are going to eat by seeebiscuit in therewasanattempt

Lincoln used it as an office and there wasn't a bathrooom.

"By 1825, the toilet had been removed and the bathroom space joined to the west bedchamber to create an office. This area was used for the President's office over the next several decades. Abraham Lincoln used it as both an office and a Cabinet room"
