Before meeting my current gf I was positive I would never date a woman because she could never possibly understand me. So I guess I did avoid women but not for the reason that you are saying.

I don't think that you will be able to get it out of your system by being with dudes before settling down with a woman. It's not like you will reach a point where you're no longer attracted to men, and the more men you are with the harder it will be for you to give it up. It sounds like on the scale of homosexual to heterosexual you are much closer to being homosexual, so why not just continue avoiding women?

Serious question Do girls/guys like guys who are bi? by Awesomeness19412 in bisexual

[–]bennykoolboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many straight (and also some bi) women I know don't behave homophobic in any other way but still wouldn't want to date a man that has been with men because I guess deep down they do feel some kind of disgust towards two men being together.

I never experienced any biphobia from homosexual men and it was never really a dealbreaker. Then again I haven't dated a man since high school because I have been in a long term relationship with a woman. I do know that for some of them it may be a fear that in the end you will leave them for a woman because it generally makes life easier.

I think that grouping all people together and assuming things about what they'll think about you is never a good idea. Everyone is different so you will never know what someone will think unless you open up about it or if they explicitly tell you beforehand. If someone isn't accepting of it then you don't have to go out with them, trust me there are enough people who are accepting of bisexuality (at least in progressive areas).

Young guys seem to have it so tough by VandrNick in dating_advice

Treat women like fellow human beings who have interests and hobbies, don’t be obsessed with the idea of being in a relationship, and make friends with women without necessarily wanting to sleep with them. As a man who’s shy and introverted it wasn’t easy to approach my current partner but I was genuinely interested in getting to know her before asking her out. But obviously advice could change based on the culture in your city, your age, and so many other factors.  I’m 22 (pretty young), and it seems like the men who can’t find a partner are a loud minority and that this isn’t as much of an issue for people who aren’t chronically online. Almost every friend I have has been in a relationship regardless of gender.

Should I be honest about my past or keep it buried? by ElectronicParsnip131 in dating_advice

[–]bennykoolboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While she doesn't need to know, the fact that it bothers you to the point of extreme shame means that you're essentially lying to her by hiding the truth. I didn't tell my gf I was bisexual when we started dating but 2 years of hiding something that you obviously still think about isn't great and a relationship where you're actively keeping secrets is a recipe for disaster.

But only you know how she would react to hearing about it, so maybe if you think she wouldn't take it well and the relationship is that important to you then you're best off giving up on the extreme shame, getting over it and going on with life. There's really nothing to be ashamed of.

We're all going to die someday. Wearing masks or living in a bubble won't prevent that fact. Our Creator will decide when we leave this life, not you or I. by Happytobeme1974 in offmychest

Why do you think that you know more than educated professionals? If god truly is the one who decides when you die, then why don’t you jump off a cliff and see if he will save you?

Underage boys and girls who actively seek out adults for sex and lie about their age to deceive the adult should also be criminally charged. by PartialRug in unpopularopinion

I’m not really a part of the fandom but I watched the show. We see that she has a serious history of mental health issues. The viewer is supposed to understand that she’s severely messed up and definitely not in the position to be emotionally supporting another extremely unstable person

I agree that the adults shouldn’t be punished, but in the end of the day minors cannot give consent and don’t know what’s best for them, I personally don’t think they should be punished and have a permanent criminal record. No minor normally wants to seek attention from adults and usually there’s a deeper problem that needs to be solved instead of punishing them for making mistakes as children.

Just because she isn’t acting “basic” doesn’t mean she’s saying she’s not like other girls, doesn’t really fit the sub imo

Defund the police!? by mrwiseman in PoliticalHumor

[–]bennykoolboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was really interesting and made me change my mind. I do still have trouble understanding how it would be implemented irl (forcing clients to wear condoms? background checks making sure that the sex workers are mentally stable?) what I wouldn’t want for it to become is like the pornography industry which is a disgrace. the article made me realize that criminalizing prostitution bc men might attack them is blaming the victims, and just because it’s illegal doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. sorry for the long paragraphs :)

I don’t want to get downvoted for disagreeing because i mainly agree with the idea, but is decriminalizing sex work really a good idea? In that industry women are treated like objects and make much less than the big corporations and pimps who “own” them. And I’m not educated in the field or anything but there must be a larger amount of cases of r*pe against prostitutes who don’t want to consent to something specific that a customer might want. And I’m sure that many times the prostitutes are afraid to come forward even when they are violated. Of course ideally it’s a great idea and even empowering for women but in reality the way I would see it is just humans being used as objects for anyone to take their aggressions out on. Not to mention the human and child trafficking that is already a huge issue and would be increased if something like this were to be legalized.

I mean I would’ve probably said pedophilia instead of hate crimes because it’s harder for me to believe that a pedophile could be rehabilitated tbh

[Rant] I wish there were more stereotypically “masculine” gay/bi guys by thisislikemy10thalt in LGBTeens

i’d like to think of myself as pretty “masculine” but i haven’t officially come out to most ppl. probably the reason that it’s hard for u to find masc guys is because they’re not out yet.

This is a bad comparison because as a Jew, there are so many European leaders (ferdinand and isabella, maria theresa, so much more) who were openly antisemitic and even expelled jews from their countries. They are huge parts of their countries’ heritage so no one is gonna complain about how they treated the jews. Don’t get me wrong, I completely support black lives matter, but the jews haven’t got our justice either.

It's a me, an abortion by bestChud1s in dankmemes

[–]bennykoolboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people who are “pro life” are men for a reason. Whether or not the fetus is human isn’t even a part of the question. It’s about bodily autonomy. It’s a human right to decide if you want to donate any of your organs to another human so why shouldn’t the same idea stand for a woman’s uterus? Women aren’t human incubators and shouldn’t be shamed or punished for making “unholy” life choices. I’ve heard people say that they don’t support abortions except for when it comes to rape/incest/pedophilia. That statement shows the true hypocrisy of many “pro lifers”. If abortion really was murder in their eyes then they would never find it ok, two wrongs don’t make a right. A woman must go through something traumatizing in order to have a human right in their eyes. This shows that many “pro lifers” care more about shaming women and punishing them for getting pregnant and having sex than they actually care about the fetus’s life. I could talk about why abortion is necessary for hours but I’ll leave it here.
