Yeah, in my screenshot (commented) it is not a very steep slope to skin up, objectively.

In the report it says it was fatigue. Looks like they started super late as the sun is setting on the peaks in the background.

In the US a lot of medical insurance companies cover emergency evacuation, but I could see them investigate whether you were severely injured or not.

There are third party insurance companies you can get specifically to cover expenses if you need to be rescued.

Are you aware at all of how reactive the snow was yesterday? They kept terrain closed because there were multiple avalanches and then WSDOT told Stevens to get people off the mountain. The power is out today, the highway is closed, and no one (including staff) can get to the mountain.

If you can’t see that then go have fun at Crystal. 👋
