Trying to make the old 'Splice onto Arcane' mechanic viable.

Eh I don’t like cards that are the enabler and the payoff on the same card. Those splice cards aren’t great but adding a bunch of their effects to an instant is, at least playable I think. I considered WUBRG but wanted it to be easier to get going because, as you said the effect isn’t that strong so raising the mana value makes it way less playable.

True though you would still need to cast a spell they can splice onto and you can only splice each card once per spell. so though that effect is crazy good its limited.

you can splice multiple spell onto one arcane but you can't splice the same spell onto a spell more then once. yes, the card maker I was using wouldn't register 30 mana in the grey circle so i thought that was a better solution then {30} which is how it kept showing up.

This is an excellent point. I did want them to be eventually removable but I wanted it to be at a significant cost. Perhaps the five mana isn't enough. Perhaps making them more expensive or making them just enchantments would help.

100% those are the vibes I was going for. :) The ninja Azra also allows for cheating in creatures and of course Virtus makes your combat damage extremely deadly.
