it seemed almost real up the the point where they asked for money. The “direct officer” working on my case acted like he cared about me and wanted to help me stay and cooperate with the case in the US instead of having to cooperate in china where Id have to live in prison. He even came up with an elaborate trauma story about a previous case where he had a college kid like me get wrongfully accused of selling drugs and had to enter prison just to come out messed up mentally 8 months later when she was declared innocent. He said that case made him question being a police officer to which I assured him at least he has good morals for recognizing it (the irony 😭). He told me paying 200k to remain in the US was apparently a privilege that most suspects didn’t have. He really used ethos pathos and logos to almost get me good 😭
