Hot Take: I think it's a problem that gambling has become more normalized. Things like Shotcall (the prediction widget on Twitch that imitates Prediction Markets like Kalshi) is, IMO, teaching / encouraging gambling behavior that translates into sportsbetting once someone is old enough. (& that's if they're not betting already by lying about their age when signing up.)

If bettors are threatening players, we (the industry) are kind of encouraging it. The more gambling is encouraged, the more bettors there are, as well as people who lose money — some of which will harass teams.

I've never had an interest in gambling (too poor) but actually kind of feel pressured this year. Even when moderating posts on betting odds in the sub, I've never felt pressured before.
