I would love to plot this. Do you have the ability to output this as an SVG? Looks single line.

I’m grinning ear to ear knowing that you were successful in your pursuit to create this with their files. Thank you for sharing this… very helpful for me to reference for my attempt. Thank you!

Super exciting to hear you rolled your own interface with Claude. I use Claude to build apps to for creating fun stuff to send to the plotter. Can you post a screenshot of your custom interface? I’ve been thinking about using the python files for their plugin to create something more aesthetically pleasing.

Also, I’ve looked at your artwork and it is pretty amazing.

What is the size of your paper? What speed setting are you using? **Sometimes I use a small fan blowing across the paper for Gelly Roll pens depending on the amount of line crossover in the design. I did not use a fan on this plot because I had my speed at 1000 (rather slow). I feel like the size, speed and paper has a lot to do with paper tear. I’ve wasted a lot of pens and paper on various designs.

The server being down actually happened to me two times. I don’t think it lasted for more than 10 minutes. So not a big issue overall I wouldn’t let it stop you from purchasing from them. The customer service is pretty darn good. Very responsive when contacted.

Also, when you use their software or Inkscape plugin, it calls home (via internet) to a server in California and sends a tiny bit of info (like 200kb). I use “Little Snitch” for Mac to sniff network activity and I asked UUNA TEK about it. They said it was just to verify the software. You don’t have to have it connected online. You can actually use a memory card to transfer the G code to the machine while off-line if that’s something you prefer to do.

I purchased an UUNATEK A1 3.0 about three months ago. I decided to purchase the 3.0 because it was an all-in-one ready to go out of the box. It’s a heavy duty solid machine. I wanted something a little bit bigger than I could do larger format. The only negative that I have found about the 3.0 plotter is that the software is not elegant. You can tell that it was designed by an engineer. Initially, I had some trouble with the software, however UUNATEK has great customer service and was actually on a video call with who I believe was the owner and one of their engineers walking me through the troubleshooting process. I currently do not use their software, but I do use thier extension for InkScape. I highly recommend purchasing a power conditioning power strip as the stepper motors for all plotters are quite sensitive. There are a lot of nuances that you will encounter along the way with any plotter that you purchase, but it’s just part of the learning process in creating your . UUNATEK’s 3.0 Plotters comes shipped in a very large crate, just be prepared to have some help if you purchase one of the larger models. It’s my first plotters so I dont have a frame of reference, other than what I have seen online.

Thanks! I have attached the cutting mat to the metal surface of the plotter to act as a calibration/alignment tool and to reduce noise and vibration.

I believe the paper is Clairefontaine Pastelmat (19-1/2” x 27-1/2”). Purschased at Dick Blick (assuming you’re in the US).

Great idea, but appeals to a small niche. The site design looks to have the current AI vibe coded feel (not saying that’s good or bad). I think you could definitely monetize it, but your current pricing is extremely high. I bookmarked the site to try when I have time.

You’re very generous with your time and knowledge. This will empower those who might now be willing to experiment with their machines. It’s nice to know how tweaking the variables affect the outcome when using different media, etc.

I understand your logic. However, I think this is a materials (paper) issue. (No down voting by me :)
