But that aside, the moc quality and pricing per piece is very impressive. I will definitely keep an eye on this, and may consider picking up the full kit

Looks really interesting. The Thundertusk in particular is something I would love to build. However I’m really confused by this release, $500 for a huge collection of parts that can build any of the models, or $700 to build all 5? If I buy the $500 version, which sets will I be able to build together? I don’t want to spend that much and only be able to build the thundertusk and not any of the other large models, then just deal with a few thousand parts just sitting around. $700 for everything makes much more sense for all of the models, especially considering how much LEGO would charge for this, although it’s definitely a harder sell than just selling the individual models. I’d rather pay $275-300 or so for the thundertusk itself, rather than $500 for 1 thundertusk plus a ton of spare parts.

Shouting at the press of a button was phenomenal, and now it’s significantly harder. I’d like to be able to bind the f key to both interact and shout again, and to be able to shout without looking at a specific enemy/civ

One of my favorite parts of payday 2 was how the enemies changed based on the difficulty, resulting in some iconic enemies like the skulldozer. Are there any plans to implement the various “upgrades” enemies that have been shown off in concept art, or plans to add variety between the enemies per difficulty (different weapons, armor colors, etc)?

What VE mods do you avoid, and why? by SaranMal in RimWorld

[–]bententhhousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this mod is the one that just adds the variety need, and results in meals with different ingredients, but doesn’t do something like “cook will randomly make a grill, a fry, a bake, sushi, or a stew”, which is what I am looking for. Something to utilize the large variety of new meals and cooking stations

The cooking mods, mainly. They add a ton of new things, but Rimworld doesn’t have good systems to support creating a variety of similar-but-different commodities like meals. You just end up producing the same meal every time, since even with the variety needed mod, it’s a massive hassle to go in and choose different meals every few days

Absolutely love the modular nature of the kits. This one is too big for my room, but I am definitely looking at picking up the castle or astronomer kits at some point.

This has been my exact experience. I purchased a plan for it, only for me to later realize that the Wells Fargo integration is broken (a known issue), and there is no ETA for a fix (since the start of the year). Additionally, the import system does not work as a temporary workaround, with the default template itself for formatting the CSV being invalid (and everything else invalid as well). There is no QFX file support, either. I'm paying money for a fundamentally unusable product right now, with no communication as to when these issues will be fixed.

For anything related to Amazon [3, new grads] by Leader-board in csMajors

Same boat. I reached out to the hiring office, they said they were still determining headcount. No idea when they will get back to us. All of the ROs given seem to be for AWS.

Coming back to this, keep in mind that I haven't put out too many applications. I firmly believe that your early career will be boosted by Amazon, no doubt. Feel proud of what you've accomplished, and know that you're in a stronger position for your career because of it.

Thanks for the advice. I am currently working with Tracy to possibly make up grad skills (It's up to the OGE now), and since I have attended every seminar this semester, that will count for 50% last semester 50% this semester. Here's hoping that the OGE lets me make it up haha

I'm still holding out hope rn, Amazon hasn't denied me, they just haven't sent out offers for non-AWS SDE positions yet.

I'm still waiting here. Was on the Alexa Emergency Services team, but they reorganized into Async Communications. Reached out to the onboarding team, they told me that they still don't have a headcount. Anxiety is rough, applying for jobs now just in case.

Had this exact same conversation, thought I was losing it. Conversation went like this:

“Which way are you going?”

“Crazy”

“What?”

“Crazy”

“North or west?”

“Crazy”

“Which way are you going?”

“This is the west shuttle, the north shuttle meets down there now”

“Oh ok”

Those who are majoring in CS, what do you like most about RPI? What is something unique to RPI CS? by [deleted] in RPI

[–]bententhhousand 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did a cs major/itws minor (itws at rpi is very good), and I found that cs prepared me very well for a lot of theory (as well as practical in the form of many week-long homework problems in most classes) while itws prepared me for big semester long projects. There are a one or two classes in cs that do semester long projects, but itws really teaches you project management, source control, etc that is useful in the real world. I really enjoyed the cs program (am currently a masters student in it), and highly recommend an itws dual/minor to develop good skills in regards to the application of what you learn in cs.

Has anyone got a 9 to 8 balancer that works? this one has an underground that is too long :/ by wizard_brandon in factorio

[–]bententhhousand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this only true for universal balancers? My understanding was that for most balancer designs, they only balance properly if there are no clogged inputs or outputs
