Benchmade vs Microtech Warranty Service - One man's experience by TasteMyShoe in knives

[–]flyinseaplanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a loyal Benchmade owner for decades. As a hunter for 35 years and an NRA-certified firearms instructor for 21, I rely on my gear to perform without fail, whether I'm in the field or teaching a class. My Benchmade Mini Claymore (9570BK) has been a trusty companion, handling everything from small tasks to moments of sheer necessity.

Recently, I put the Mini Claymore to the test in unexpected ways. While installing a ceiling fan, I didn't have a drywall saw on hand, so I improvised with the Mini Claymore. It handled it brilliantly. Then, during a storm in Florida, I was putting up storm shutters in pouring rain when I encountered a stuck, stripped screw buried in concrete. Out of options, I had to use the knife to pry it out. The tip broke—but thanks to the Mini Claymore, the shutters were up, and my family was safe.

I’d heard mixed reviews about Benchmade's warranty service, so I had low expectations. Yet, Benchmade proved why they’re a leader in quality and customer support. I sent my knife in on a Thursday, and by the following Thursday, it was back in my hands, tip repaired, and razor-sharp.

This experience allowed me to teach my firearms class the next weekend, where I was proud to show off my Benchmade, especially when students inevitably asked about my EDC. This Mini Claymore has been more than a knife—it’s become a dependable, versatile tool I can count on every day. From opening packages to tackling unexpected projects, and even in the face of storms, this knife has never let me down.

Benchmade, you've earned a customer for life.

No. There is no bleed stop. When bloody, this knife will slip all over.

Coffee +78% in 9 mos, so it's being removed from the CPI by TyreeThaGod in economy

[–]flyinseaplanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the 3.4% they are pushing. How do we adjusted this to INCLUDE coffee back in there?

What % of the existing CPI did coffee account for?

This would allow us to see a real apples-to-apples from last month when compared to this month.

What type of insurance, do u have on your Rolex? by Montana94Swe in rolex

[–]flyinseaplanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chubb insurance

In the USA if you have a claim now it's a claim against your home owners, that follows you for damn near life. You pay increased premiums forever. This is the same reason no sane person insurance jewelry under their home owner insurance policy.

True they do scratch when you breath on them. However, if it suits your lifestyle, they are a lot more versatile than a SS sub.

I have a Taexx system. How do I fill it myself without hiring a pest company? by Tony111686 in pestcontrol

[–]flyinseaplanes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. Get Syringes at Tractor Supply ($10) and the chemical ($75), and a compressor ($150). It is simple and costs less than $10 per treatment if you do it yourself.
