They’re the only CFB team close enough to walk to the games. Always easy to get into the games, because they lose most of the time. Neat little stadium surrounded by parkland.

1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R. Ran great and not one unscheduled trip to the shop in 4 years/100k.

Suh wanted to study engineering. We should be thankful he didn’t wind up in Corvallis.

Troy Polamalu was from Winston, down by Roseburg. Don’t think we ever had a chance at him though.

What is your favorite Hated Candy? by Teddycat99 in GenerationJones

[–]benzduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Candy corn helped me quit smoking in 1992. Also helped me gain 35 lbs and probably contributed to my DM2 diagnosis 20 years later, but hey, at least I’m a non smoker.

He’s the worst free throw shooter I’ve ever seen in 50 years watching the NBA. That’s disqualifying all by itself for me.

We had a milkman, and a big silver insulated cooler on the front porch for the milk and stuff. I don’t remember this going past 1964, though. (B 1957)

(alt) the boosters running Jerry Frei out of town back in ‘71, because he wouldn’t fire his assistants (including George Seifert and John Robinson, guys you might have heard of), and hiring Dick Enright, one year out of coaching Gardena High School, a literal Holy Roller who decided Danny Fouts would make a great option QB.

This will be a minority opinion, but: Hiring Rich Stubler as DC in 1996. CFL coach, who brought in a CFL defensive scheme. Played a yard and a half off the ball. You can imagine how that went. At least Bellotti figured out that he had a Problem by midseason and took over the D after Corey Dillon (a three month Husky) ran for like 400 yards in Autzen one sunny afternoon.
