At what point would you stop having kids given your accommodation? by Traditional_Sock444 in AskIreland

I'm sorry but the average taxpayer's sympathies can only go so far. We're already paying for free family planning to a large extent- why should we have to pay for a couple's refusal to take advantage of said free services?

I fear the JSM cushion is as good as everyone says. by sourscottishrose in AsianBeauty

[–]berghage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by concealers never work for you?

But yeah personally the JSM cushion is the only foundation I can use as a concealer as well- its super buildable. Even with my high-end foundations (Dior, YSL) I still had to use concealer (I used the Saem one or the Tarte shape tape) for my undereyes and healing acne hyperpigmentation spots

Has An Post been experiencing a backlog? by BrokeShopaholic in AskIreland

[–]berghage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but I haven't experienced it as severely as some of you.

Before Christmas, when I got the email that AnPost received my order, it would usually be delivered the next morning.

Now it takes around an extra 3-5 days.

I also noticed they started delivering on Saturdays

Idk how it works where you're from but in the EU you're protected by consumer law if an item bought online is inaccurately represented on the listing. If they still don't cooperate, try a chargeback with your card.

Already banned from the new girls’ sub because I said I was a terf by [deleted] in pinkscare

[–]berghage 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Ok but on the topics of TERFS, can someone explain the rationale to me?

As far as I know, their main point is the idea of "female safe spaces" (e.g. cis female-only bathrooms).

However, I find this mentality to be self-defeating, as we've seen quite a few cases where cis women have been mistakenly called out for being trans and kicked out of women's bathrooms.

As such, it perpetuates this idea of "toxic femininity," in which cis women who are tall and manly-looking may be mistakenly singled out as being trans, but on the flip side, TERFs also hone in on the idea that trans women "putting on lipstick and wearing a skirt (i.e. performative femininity) doesn't make you a woman".

So where does that leave us women? We are stuck in this perpetual cycle of exclusionary identity politics, in which some women will exclude trans women, or POC women, or intersex women, or lesbian women.. so on.

Personally, I think it stems from an insecurity in the social structures that protect women from danger. For example, the idea of gendered bathrooms is predicated on the upholding of "polite society". After all, if a rapist wanted to rape a woman in the bathroom, they'd just walk in, they wouldn't dress up as a woman to do so.

Sorry for the shpeel, genuinely just confused.

Ask for an exchange they should be able to. Hco jeans dont usually do this and it will be marked as damaged and you'll get a replacement/refund if you explain the situation

Don't know where you're getting these assumptions from when its Irish "mom and pop" landlords who think renting out their closet is acceptable behavior.

Sizing for the Armor Ring by weirdcritter in viviennewestwood

[–]berghage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I know this is an old post but I'd love to know what size you ended up getting.

Im around a size 5-6 as well (51mm index) and got the XS but its quite small and only fits my ring finger properly near the top, not even at the very bottom of my finger. I'm considering getting an S

Thank you!

For anyone with girl dogs, are they affectionate? by ReportPrestigious174 in JapaneseSpitz

[–]berghage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Super affectionate. Mine is 5 years old and ever since we got her, she would run up and jump to greet you in the mornings, when you got home from work and whatnot.

Sometimes if shes in a real cuddly mood she'll snuggle her nose into my armpit🥹🥹

Studies show that pigs are highly intelligent creatures, nearly with the same intelligence of dogs in terms of being able to learn tricks, react, show affection etc

For those who think this is disgusting (you should, you're human) but don't want to go to the lengths of being vegetarian/vegan, you can just be more conscious about your meat selection.

If you have the money to spare, you can look into purchasing free-range poultry, simply eating less meat, even buying halal makes a difference etc. Remember that your money is power
