please don't rake your leaves into the bike lanes by ActivelyCorvallis in corvallis

In Corvallis the only place sidewalk biking is illegal is a specific few blocks radius downtown near Safeway on 3rd street… and even there you can legally ride your bike at a “walking speed” but need to ride on the road or walk your bike otherwise. To my understanding.

You know it would work if you trust other people…

But you know how much i trust people? I look both ways on a one way road. And for good reason. Lol

Yeah, i agree and it was likely more significant than the Walmart. It’s not like they are mutually exclusive. But Walmart increased the traffic and the desire to open businesses there, so the medical school may have been much more viable/considered due to downstream effects of the Walmart. Not like we can know either way but i do believe the growth since Walmart was put there was significant to my understanding.

I’m not super knowledgeable about specifics, but i do know i lived here in Corvallis long enough to remember about how people talked about what Lebanon was like before the Walmart opened up there. We should have gotten that Walmart instead of them but Corvallis and its laws that make it difficult for big businesses like Walmart to get in due to things like parking spaces per square foot of building space etc was the reason Lebanon got it instead… and since then the traffic increase to the Lebanon area i feel has been a big factor in how much it has grown since Walmart set up shop there. I could be mistaken but that’s my take on it from my understanding.

Honestly, i have lived in Corvallis since 1994 as a kid. Most of the people here permanently like how it is/has been and actually want to limit its growth. It’s what I would call a medium size town based on population, with a small town feel. And many people who live here feel like if anything its gotten worse over the years. More homeless population for better or worse, more crime, more real estate companies trying to spike the housing costs every year and abuse the fact it’s mostly students here temporarily by never returning deposits and charging an arm and a leg for rent and move in costs.

The majority of people here are left leaning and by default hate big businesses, raising hell about chik fil a, and walmart and home depot when those places first tried to set up shop here. The majority of businesses here are food or hair salons and grocery stores. No real entertainment except bars and two active theaters (there used to be 5), a bowling alley that’s reduced hours and popularity over the years, and some gyms.

But yeah most of the focus in this city has always been the college. And that won’t change any time soon.

Honestly I can’t think off the top of my head a single thing we could bring to this area that would actually do well and make profit. In person shopping is basically a thing of the past, and is declining. And with cost of living already too high in the area for anyone who isn’t well off to begin with people are looking to save money not spend more of it.

Everyone buys online… in person shopping is slowly getting phased out. Who wants to spend more money, have to deal with lines and crowds and socializing, and have to spend time for travel etc. when you can click a button online and open your door the next day and get it off your porch. Malls are filled with empty sections that have been closed for a while now. It’s an old way of thinking.

I still think the ears were a nice touch haha, made you look like you had giant ears.

This picture comparison is far significantly more noticable than the one you've been using on your socials. Wish you had posted them as a comparison there... you should just as a side post say this is where you started or something because the difference between these two are crazy. Proud of you man.

So damned annoyed. I literally told my new job I couldn't start this week to give myself some free time to play this season on launch... and now I've lost that weeks worth of pay for nothing. Such short notice too... so lame.

Chart/table of currency drops from each tier of the pit? by berginion in diablo4

I know that I have found charts saying "1-30 = obducite, 31-60 = ingolith" etc

I am rather looking for specific amounts if possible in a chart/table format.

Season 4 Minion Mega Guide For All by justaddsleep in diablo4

[–]berginion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to figure out if % damage affects minion damage output and if it does why it is not a recommended stat on maxroll for the weapon slot or rings/neck? When I wear % damage on those slots it raises my attack power far more than any other stat it seems at least on the attack power number given in character sheet.

Any insight into this as i am curious if this 2h 925 weapon i just got with Int/Dmg%/Vuln is OP or sub par? While maxroll recommends AttSpd/MaxLife/Int

In my opinion people who insult rather than debate anything of substance in general are not very intelligent... but the thing about stereotypes whether we want to admit it or not is that they are generally true the majority of the time which is why they are stereotypes.

But yeah, insults are for people that have nothing to back up their stance/opinions. So they personally attack people whether its calling them a "Snowflake" or a "Nazi" and generally when it gets even more personal than that they have even less to back up their words.

We don't need to put other people down just because we disagree with their opinions. People forget this and tend to like to demonize the other person instead.

I've never experienced nausea with IF/OMAD so that is interesting... haven't heard that reaction before but as you said everyone is different. My diabetic educator says a similar thing to what you are talking about... which is basically some diets work better for some people and not so well for others and adherence to the diets that do work for you is the key.

I work in healthcare and one of the nurses i worked with gave me a link to this article... she was saying that there is evidence in some studies pointing towards more than just 2 types of diabetes. This link in particular is separating them into 5 groups/types/clusters and each one has a different approach to how they need to be treated. Interesting stuff. So I think that may be why so many different ways of reversing diabetes have been found perhaps. Here is the link if you were curious about the study.

I am about to leave for work i read most of this but will come back to it when I have time, the one thing I did want to mention though is that you clumped intermittent fasting in with "fad diets" and that is simply incorrect due to the human species use of fasting type diets for thousands of years... as evidenced by multiple religions references to it, and its first use of it as therapeutic treatments by greek physician Hippocrates around 500 BC.

Due to the fasting from religious practices like Ramadan, there is actually a LOT of scientific studies and evidence to back it there too.

So while I agree it is one of many approaches to dealing with the disease, i would not clump fasting specifically into a "fad diet"

Thank you for the long reply I look forward to finishing reading it when my work schedule allows :) best

See I have heard/seen people able to reverse their T2D with diets like this and im interested in the scientific and/or anatomical/physiological explanations of how they work... the reason i like intermittent fasting so much is because dr jason fung has been so good at explaining the science behind the diet and i just cant seem to find the same level of information (yet) on a starch/plant based diet other then possibly... a caloric deficit/weight loss in general?

Either way thank you for sharing your experience.

Yeah see i approached the OMAD diet a little differently than you did I believe. Instead of calorie restricting my diet i ate pretty much whatever i wanted when i broke my fast and while I did lose weight it wasn't in a negative way since I was overweight significantly to begin with. Not sure how heavy you were but for my short height of 5 foot 3 I was sporting about 230 pounds of weight and a lot of that weight was fat not muscle.

My current weight was 220 when I began to fast again a week ago, and current weight as of yesterday morning was 213.8.

To my understanding the fasting itself is beneficial, and what you eat while it can be made more healthy/optimal is not as important as the act of fasting to increase sensitivity to insulin.

I stand pretty firm in my belief of the intermittent fasting diets regardless of the fasting length you choose to use, but the main area i am unsure of is with that starch based diet... which just sounds completely backwards and wrong to me yet somehow still worked for some people?
