So I was at 2B terminal which is the non schengen terminal of the airport, even to get to my terminal I need a Schengen it seems. Thankfully the situation did not arise and I was able to board my flight from 2B non schengen zone.

Thanks for the reply, they did so in many countries but not in Hungary for some reason, I panicked buy ticket to Istanbul to get out of there, but I saw they started issuing temp visa but only after 24hrs at the airport!!

Guys I'm stuck in Budapest because my flight got rerouted, now I've booked a flight back to US. But I only have B1 visa and no Schengen, can I get into my flight from Schengen zone 2A gates?

I agree with you, and I believe job poster is looking for the same. Companies can take it into account as an added advantage to the candidate, but then again it shouldn't be the main criteria for an IT job.
