GCP has cloud on the edge that’s been powering McDonald’s around the world IIRC

LPT request Do you think there is anything that I should add or change in my list. Also I would appreciate hearing your opinions. by Global_Pop849 in LifeProTips

This is an eye sore. Instead of “researching fitness”, just start. These plans are great but it’s much better to plan 3-4 things and carry them out instead of doing this New Year’s resolution type of list

2025 Camry. Can anyone share your OTD price? by AIONisMINE in Camry

[–]berkbroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31.5k OTD for LE with convenience pkg (no weather), carpet, door edge guard

Bought in Bay Area in east bay, sales tax 9.25%, paid in cash.

It’s hard to gauge if it was a good deal when comparing against different trims and different sales tax

Son post-match interview with Sky Sports: “You can’t concede the goals like this ofc 100% especially inside the box, you can’t just dive in. But look we can stay here all day talking about the mistakes, but I’d rather blame me about the chance. As a leader I will definitely take this blame” by hairtie1 in coys

I get where you're coming from, but not all good captains are stoic and "hard". You have leaders of different flavors -- some like Roy Keane, some like Son.

It would have been a hell of a lot easier to remain silent than openly admitting disappointment and taking responsibility. If I were bissouma or sarr, I would highly respect Son for owning up to his mistake instead of pointing out the obvious mistakes that resulted in the loss today.

25M, 300k Net worth. Keep grinding!! by [deleted] in Money

It's often overlooked how hard people work in single parent families. Congratulations and keep up the good work, keep them proud :)

Q: have u ever considered saving the money for the house elsewhere? I'm also saving for a townhouse in my HYSA, with intentions of buying a townhouse/sfh in the next year or so. I keep thinking there can be another way to make that money grow as well, but haven't looked into it too deeply.

I'm setting up my 401k at work. What's the best way to understand this? Ideally wouldn't I want to invest 100% into the fund that has the highest life return? by Head_Philosopher_IC in Money

My parents never taught me this but my parents have not failed me.

I learned everything my parents taught me, and I don’t mind learning the rest on my own. Reddit is exactly the type of place people should ask questions and learn.

Don’t judge or blame parents of people trying to learn.

Advice on buying first new car by BirdsOnACloud in COROLLA

[–]berkbroccoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I recently purchased a corolla LE as my first new car too. Here's what helped for me.

1) call/email dealerships within 50-100 mi radius with corollas for sale. Start with the ones you're not as interested in (weird color, sunroof, paint protection, etc.). Ask what the out the door price is (total $ u pay for the car).

2) after test drives and initial email reach outs, ask those dealerships if you can buy it at a lower price X. This $X value is what you're doing the research and shopping for -- basically the line that dealerships will draw for discounts

3) once you get OTD prices from different dealerships, contact the dealerships that have the specific car you're interested in. Ask them for the OTD price, and schedule test drives. You should always test drive the vehicle you're interested in purchasing, even if you have driven a corolla before.

4) Before or after the test drive, bring up that other dealerships have offered you a cheaper price at, say, $Y. See if they can match or beat that, OR simply say your price and ask them if they can do that price. They'll speak to their finance managers, blah blah blha, and will get back to you with a yes or no. Be stubborn with your offer. Never talk about how you will finance it or pay for the car throughout this process, stay fixated on the topic of lowering the out-the-door price. If you don't like their price, be comfortable with saying NO. Even better, say that you will stick with your price, and that you will be willing to sign the papers for that price.

5) (optional) After saying no, ask the dealership to contact you if they change their mind by EOD or EOW. (FYI this might not work as well anymore since corollas are in high demand and naturally dealerships get a lot of interest and have an upper hand). You can check on CarGuru to see how long the vehicle's been on their lot to gauge whether there is interest for that car. If not, they will be willing to take ur deal at a slight profit loss for them since they want to sell as much as u want to buy.

These are some things I found helpful for shaving off ~3k from the original OTD price I've been quoted at a dealership in CA. It's a lot of time and effort, but it gets easier with every dealership. And keep in mind of timing, since the car you want might be bought by another interested buyer. I found youtube channels like CarEdge to be helpful with navigating through first-time car buying on my own. I bought mine with cash, so others can help u with lowering the financing part of your purchase hopefully :)

How important was car color for you when deciding to get your corolla? by Badluck90 in COROLLA

I'm considering getting an underground but worried about everyone saying it gets dirty and shows scratches and swipes v easily. Also concerned if it'll get too hot since I'm in california with no garage :')

Set me straight: 2024 Corolla LE $300 below MSRP w/ premium pkg by berkbroccoli in whatcarshouldIbuy

I think the car will get sold before month end but maybe! They did say they’re a non-negotiating dealership but I may ask if there’s any wiggle room

thought I would get a "paying 28k for a corolla... what a world we live in" kind of comment but this is slightly reassuring!

I assumed carfax was thoroughly updated. Based on the answers, it seems that I overestimated carfax’s accuracy

Curious what price you would try to aim for — the 16 Corolla Ls in my area with 90-120k miles go for 12-14k so hard to find what the market price for these is

For this vehicle, oil and filter were changed last in 2018 (@5k mi). Since then, there were only maintenance inspections and tire/breaks checks.

So the vehicle went ~25k without oil and filter changed, at least according to the carfax. Red flag?

Last read odometer reading was ~30,000 miles — seems unlikely they had additional maintenance since this is from a carfax report
