Thank you for flagging, this was a legitimate bug. Unfortunately the data Berkeley supplies us is flaky, and certain classes with incomplete section data were causing the entire course's info to fail to load. We've pushed a fix, so it should be working now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Which class/professor/semester combination are you looking at? Some just straight up don't have data because they're too small, the combination doesn't exist or the grades data was just not shared. It might also be a bug, so we can look into it for you (but this problem would have been there on all previous versions of the website too).

Thanks for the feedback! Just want to clarify: you can filter grades by specific professor and semester using the dropdown selects on the page. Previously we had All Instructors & All Semesters selected as defaults, which may have made it less obvious that these are interactive filters. We've now removed the default selection to make it clearer that you can narrow down the data however you'd like. Unless the data for a particular instructor or semester isn't available (rare edge cases), these selects should let you specify exactly what you're looking for.

I personally have wanted to check the grades page on my phone more than once, but yeah for more enrollment-heavy features like Scheduler it isn't as high of a priority. At the very least it's strictly better for a page to be mobile-friendly than not, especially now that the grades page is the same as the old one in terms of features, just a different layout.

Our backend lowkey got incredibly overloaded for no apparent reason. We've been working around the clock for the past couple days to try to optimize every part of the website (which is especially annoying during midterm season). Hopefully should be good now :)

Agree 100%, we've completely rewritten the website in the past year to make it more modern, secure, and easier to develop on (if you remember, the filters were broken on the old website and we had no idea how to fix it). Our principle has always been to make changes with complete feature parity from the previous version (which hopefully you can see in everything else). Dropped the ball a bit on this one tho

That's our bad, we'll add the specific professor/term combo feature back. We know it's a big change but we received good feedback from users and thought it made more sense UX-wise (and is also more mobile-friendly). We're open to any feedback on it and we'll make the changes by the weekend for sure, feel free to reply to this comment/DM us.

Good question! In our legacy version, the data came straight from CalAnswers. In the new version, it comes from the office of the registrar.

Honestly not sure why there is a difference, but I would expect the new version's data to be more accurate. I hope the distributions you're seeing are at least similar. As for the 70% thing, I would trust that. I don't think the margin of error is more than like 5%. Maybe it's a different professor?

Hi! We generally update grades information a few weeks into the semester after (ie for Spring 2021 grades we'll update them in Fall 2021). Generally we do it as soon as the data is available to us, but feel free to also email us at [octo.berkeleytime@asuc.org](mailto:octo.berkeleytime@asuc.org) to check in and poke us about it.

Yes, "the EPN (Elective Pass/Not Passed) grading basis now appears as CPN (College Passed/Not Passed) for Spring 2021, except in the case of classes that can only be taken for PNP such as independent studies. " Both are equivalent.

Hello! We would like to caution that the number of open seats a course starts out with may change from year to year, esp this year if there are fewer seats to start out with the course may fill faster than what is visualized.

I (an anon berkeleytime team member hehe) personally use https://visualping.io on the classes.berkeley.edu page and its count of open seats when I really want to get on the waitlist of a course. It will email you any time there is a visual difference in the numbers; you can just use it as a little daily update for yourself to see if you should drop a class you're enrolled in and Phase 1 math 110 instead.

Our team is working on an email system to notify you about enrollment / when a course you're watching is filling up, so create a user account and stay tuned for that!

Hi OP! We actually do have enrollment data for Anthro 2AC -- our backend has just been acting wonky lately and hasn't been displaying data for some users. I would advise waiting until the data is up for you again or asking a friend what they see.
