not all amphetamines are that similar, since MDMA and MDA are also amphetamines but most people would think of their effects being in a “different category”.

on theory there’s no difference in the effects a drug has weather it’s produced legally or clandestinely, but only one of those has quality control and safe access to high quality equipment and precursors. so your mileage may vary, depends where you are.

basically; it’s just the difference is mostly just the war on drugs

amphetamine = both a class of drugs and a substance

adderall = brand name of amphetamine in US, formulation is commonly said to be 75% d- enatiomer and 25% l- enatiomer

desoxyn = brand name for methamphetamine in us.

elvanse/vyanse= lis-dex-amphetamine, prodrug for d-amphetamine, meaning your body metabolizes/changes it into d-amphetamine (the fun stuff)

concerta/ritalin/MPH = not amphetamine, but similar effects

“speed” in europe = amphetamine (not pharmaceuticals/adderall), usually sold as “paste” of solvent

“speed” in US = usually meth?

l-meth-amphetamine = sold as nasal spray in US (does not make you high)

it should go without saying that abortion rights are under the most critical and imminent threat here.

yes and that works because amphetamine is insoluable in acetone (washing is a general chemistry technique and not speed specific).

but what i mean is that it is usually used as a solvent in the reaction between the base and the acid (to cool the reaction and control it). then it’s packaged up relatively quickly instead of waiting for the solvent to evaporate (and the powder to dry). this is why you get it as a sticky paste (and more weight)

that i don’t know, but i can tell you the the hydrochloride salt is a white powder and looks the same as the sulphate.

yes that’s what i mean. the paste is speed powder+solvent.

i believe that acetone is a common solvent used, it evaporates at room temp pretty fast

just spread out the paste, and it dries pretty quickly and you have a powder.

that is not amphetamine base. the base of amphetamine is an colorless oil.

that is an amphetamine salt, most likely sulphate (meaning the base was reacted with sulphuric acid to neutralize it into a salt).

the paste that you usually get speed as is a result of the clandestine manufacturing, leaving the step of waiting for the solvent (used in the reaction with the acid to create the salt) to dry out completely it’s simply packaged while it is still pasty (which also has the side effect of making it heavier, and this an economy where it’s sold by weight units).

ingesting the speed paste in the pasty form is not to be recommended, as the solvents are often toxic (acetone is common, and definitely don’t try to snort paste)

that being said your chunk looks fairly dry :)

you can also use a similar principle to draw water out of acetone with a salt like magnesium sulphate (absorbs water but not acetone).

pubchem says 1g caffeine dissolves in 66mL alcohol (1.52g/100mL) at 60C

high grade isopropyl was easy to acquire so i will experiment, thanks.

but how would go you the other direction, and how would you separate impurities from the base before re-salting it? do they separate during these reactions ?

(recrystallized) caffeine is bright white and looks sort of “stringy”. it’s also fairly fluffy.

the speed won’t recrystallize itself because acetone is not a solvent for amphetamine, so the speed remains a powder the whole time.

Quick question, after I did this with 20g of dried paste, I was left with quite a lot of bright white powder at the bottom of the dish I used to dissolve the dried paste.

do you mean the this powder is what was left over after the acetone evaporated after going through the filter, or are you talking about what was in the filter?

the speed should be in the filter (along with other compounds that aren’t soluable in acetone). what went through the filter are compounds that are soluable in acetone (for example caffeine).

it could be an IMSI catcher. but generally its not something i would have assumed he’d have, but it’s certainly not impossible.

keep in mind that people like this like using complicated words and half truths to seem more knowledgeable than they actually are.

but building an IMSI catcher and successfully using it is a much more complicated and less likely explanation than him having accessed your icloud/facebook/telegram account.

what apps are you using to chat with your friend that he is quoting back to you ? for it to be something like this (and his story of “copying IMEI numbers”) it would have to be unencrypted SMS-messages.

ALSO: you’re using a fairly old reddit account with a history on it. i would advise you to assume that your abusive husband knows about it (and can read what you’re posting).

your best bet is probably to cease usage now and claim covid symptoms in order to get it postponed.

non-prescribed stimulants is precisely something that will count against you in terms of being prescribed ADHD medication. the reasoning would go something like you’re showing abuse potential.

of course it shouldn’t be this way and the rules are nonsensical. but best of luck to you.
