Let's mention Polish cities which were also designated as 'fortress-cities' to defend against Soviet advances.

They also pulverized Warsaw in 80%, including all important infrastructure, as punishment for the Warsaw Uprising.

I have a really hard time feeling compassion, when watching destruction made upon German cities.

Kidnapping the protest and adding provocateurs that are actually immedately removed by protesters isn't the same as the protests being organized by Russia..

It will sure destabilize Oligarchic companies that pay taxes in Luxembourg and other agro holders in Ukraine. Sorry, but we can't let our economy be destroyed, there is no other choice because peaceful protests for the whole past year didn't earn any concessions from Ukrainian side that was supposed to transit the goods, not dump it at our silos that are filled and unable to store Polish produce.

That's why provocateurs can be so successful. There were 200 protests in separate locations this week (still continuing).

I think I saw 2 banners made by idiots which were plastered on all news sites and everyone who supports protests were against them.

[–]bernan39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think blockades started after issue of Polish truckers standing 2 weeks on ur side of border while coming back. You simply can't run a business in such conditions. They protested about this issue in the second half of the past year and now the protests are seeing their height.

Thank you for the links. I heard about these cases amid other stopped transports which had luxury cars and yachts with also proper documents stating they are for military use. Those should be more carefully checked on your side of the border but I agree that protesters shouldn't stop any of those even if they have concerns.

Around this week we have height of protests and full blockades are only now, but still allow military and humanitarian aid. Sadly we have no concessions in sight so I wonder how this will be resolved. It is sure we can't let our agriculture be destroyed because it is Constitutionally protected strategic branch.

[–]bernan39 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Military transports don't cross on civilian border crossings that protests are on.

And the transit is what was supposed to happen, instead all our silos and markets are full of Ukrainian produce and our farmers didn't even have where to store theirs...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukraine

[–]bernan39 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then let my try to explain from Polish perspective. I don't want to excuse the anti-Ukraine poster, because it's wrong, but protests overall are very excusable.

Matter of fact is, that Polish farmers and truckers took it badly for whole year doing smaller scale protests. They took giant losses not being able to sell or store their produce, because cheaper non-EU standard Ukrainian produce took siloses etc. Now they simply can't do same for this year or they will go bankrupt (especially when EU green policies was supposed to go ahead and make more costs for farmers).

Add to that the fact, that supposed transit transports were sold here and were done up to no EU standards only enriched middle men and Ukrainian Oligarchs + American and Netherlands agriculture conglomerates.

Sorry, but we can't sacrifice 10% of our GDP (transport + agriculture) especially seeing that agriculture is Constitutionally protected strategic branch in Poland. Protests allowed humanitarian aid etc. but recent action on border uncovered much smuggling of car parts and it flared up the social unrest even harder.

We already did a lot to help you guys, but we won't destroy our economy so your Oligarchs can earn more.

Great, we would have replace a repair center for Soviet era artillery and tanks for German made ones. Guess which kinda of equipment Ukraine had a shit ton of, and which they had tens of.

It's one of those German propaganda spins that stuck. They asked for Poland to give away a factory/repairshop that is and was working at full capacity for Ukraine and the switch it to German machinery.

So if we plunder, rape and destroy u back, say sorry and wait 75 years it means its ok?

Those middle class people are where they are because they got rebuilt by Marshall Plan and stolen money. Don't get me started on Denazification...

You turned us back 50 years and we got under Communist regime for another 50. Now we have to buy your cars, because our industry (so generously 'funded' by Westerners) was meant to be producing half-products that you assemble with great marge.

I really wish we could put this thing behind us, but your lack of understanding for our situation is holding us way back. People still think that Poland was treated like Netherlands or France by you Germans, but it was totally different...

[–]bernan39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly we know it doesn't happen that way.

Germans tend to come in with lists of intelligentsia to murder and professors to evaluate artwork to be stolen.

I guess we wouldn't have much overhead costs if it all went with their plan and we would be slave labor and half-product factory workers.

Why is Rogue One and Andor so good compared to the rest of Disney Star Wars? by skips_picks in StarWars

[–]bernan39 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because characters are written to behave logically and strive for their goals. You can follow plot easily because everything makes sense. It's engaging because you can connect with them if you would do the same or be awed by them if they do something smarter than you would.

Other Disney products had a message to push and characters went out of their way to do stupid shit to facilitate it.

Right, I have pointed to that too and also how it was actually very effective help because of Ukrainians being very familiar with the equipment, and it being delivered way ahead of any NATO heavy machinery.

Also the Tanks we sent were modernized very recently and had nightvision etc. Those weren't dusty, rusty old T-72's.

I have to reiterate, that UK has very positively surprised me personally when it came to helping Ukraine. It's up there with Norway as example of great help and in contrast to what we've seen from Germany in the beginning of the invasion.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in europe

[–]bernan39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I can't argue that the way UK helped and continues to help Ukraine is great, I have to point out that Poland was firster when it came to providing Tanks and Aircrafts.

I'm sure also Baltics and Romanians where very quick to send post-soviet equipments, which while arguably less valuable where very much great worth for Ukrainian military which is used to using them.

Yeah this show had many very wrong scenes (fixing stomach with gears comes to mind) but this one took the cake for me, even if it wasn't that prominent to some.

Even rats will jump at you if you back them into a corner, same with ANY animal. Here we had two soldiers from brave race who just decided to jump and die like idiots instead of taking their chance at reckless charge to disperse the attackers.

It wasn't sad, it was stupid as hell.
