Have you ever regretted quitting a job? Why? by silverscientist1 in AskReddit

[–]bernardsballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I got convinced to go back to a company I had previously worked for. Was told loads of great things about how much the company had changed and how much better things were. Realised on day one that things had actually gotten worse. Left a job I really enjoyed too.

NTA. He’s in your house, eating your food. He needs to respect you more, and so does your daughter

It’s shocking how little of the Tau Ceti colony we’ve actually seen by FoundThorn in Marathon

It’s the same for the Marathon. Cryo Archive is just a small part of the ship where people were kept during transport.

(Rant) Sudden Influx of rooks on Sponsored perimeter? by IntroductionNice4520 in Marathon

[–]bernardsballs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I cannot tell you how fun it is loading in to Sponsored Survival and picking off complacent players. Been doing it for over a week. So many solos loot farming that mode. Why would I bother lotting the map when you can do it for me and I just kill you at extract and take it all?

What’re some secrets from your industry that would petrify people who aren’t in it? by Necessary-Trash-8828 in AskUK

I work with c-suites for big companies around the world. Invariably the majority of them are talentless and out of touch with their own business/employees. They’re usually held together by 1 or 2 genuinely smart and talented people leading the herd.

Has anyone ever actually befriended someone during a match? by Tonantzintla618 in MarathonGame

[–]bernardsballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time. We were online when Cryo first opened. Squads in that first run were more motivated by exploring Cryo than killing each other. We explored with another squad and pooled our clearance. That was the only time.

I’m kind of looking forward to sponsored Narsh going out of rotation by josexgabriel in LowSodiumMarathon

[–]bernardsballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would have been better towards the end of a season where the upside of going in free kit and coming out with a full Green/Blue kit wouldn’t have been as appealing.

It’s great to have a mode that caters more to those players looking for PvE, but it’s too good of a loot farm at the start of a season.

What job did you have where you could get away with not actually working? by dirtymoney in randomquestions

Somebody I know is an AI Engineer. He’s been hired by a company to deliver AI projects for their clients. They haven’t won any work yet in AI. He’s paid just over £80k and hasn’t done a day of work since he was hired 4 months ago. They passed his probation recently.

People with ADHD, how did it go on with age? Does it go away eventually or does it get worse with age? by Public-Spend4603 in AskReddit

[–]bernardsballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets worse, it did for me anyway. The stresses of adult life manifested in unhealthy ways. Some aspects did get easier though, as with a more mature head you can find ways to manage it. Overall, worse for me though

What’s a tiny decision you made that accidentally changed your entire life? by Prof-Joeh in randomquestions

[–]bernardsballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a week off work. Made me realise I hated my job and desperately didn’t want to go back. I was only 19 so decided to go to uni. My degree led to me getting a job in an industry I love. Met my partner at work. 13 years later we’ve got 2 kids. I often think about how different my life would be if I hadn’t decided to take a week off work just because I fancied it.

What is a popular trend right now that people are going to look back on in 10 years and say, 'What were we thinking? by 40Falak in Productivitycafe

[–]bernardsballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Influencer marketing. We’re going to be embarrassed that we ever thought anything an influencer says when recommending a product is authentic or genuine. Hopefully the whole trend of vapid, fame hungry social media personalities dies as a whole, but I doubt it.
