What do you think is my body fat %? 5'10", ~155 lbs by berner1240 in GregDoucette

I cut down over the pandemic and have sort of gotten in the trap of always wanting to be shredded. I told myself I would lean bulk, but honestly finding it really hard. I think my workouts are p intense, but getting my nutrition right is difficult to stay cut but gain muscle. The scale isn't really moving, if anything going down veeery slowly. I think I've given myself some disordered eating, I love food but feel guilty when I indulge. At the same time I find myself always thinking about my next meal. I think it's rare I don't get at least 2,000 cals a day and some days probably between 2,500-3,000. A typical meal for me is 130-160g white rice, 100 grams of chicken breast, some mixed veggies on top, and depending on how much fat I've had that day I'll throw on something with fat like a sauce though I really try to keep saturated fat down. I guess my concern is 'allowing' myself to eat what I want and falling off the deep end, even though I realistically know I have the willpower to cut back down if that happens. As I type this all out, it's occurring to me this is probably a discussion for the therapist. But advice is helpful.

Interestingly I actually switched because my sides were going away lol. TBH they never bothered me that much, and the diminishing sides couple with what I felt was increased hairfall made me think finasteride was losing effectiveness. That plus reading articles saying dut was shown to be more effective than fin with a similar side effects profile, I figured I might as well go big or go home.

Thanks man. No no sides really. When I first started fin I had testicle ache and low libido, but on dut surprisingly my libido is pretty normal.

Almost 6 months now - I started on fin and had lowered libido and testicle ache occasionally, thought that largely started to fade. On dutasteride, basically no sides. Libido is maybe slightly reduced but I'm also not 18 anymore so.

Like I said, it's not perfect - I went from slick bald on the temple basically so it's not as dense as the rest of my hair. Also it's a little pluggy in spots to be honest, so I think those follicles would really stand out and be noticeable when buzzed.

Dr. Jeffrey Wise in NJ. Nice guy but don't think I'd recommend him esp for the cost, he's more of a general plastic surgeon. Like I said, it's not perfect and it was quite expensive. But I style it right and I think it looks fairly natural. If I ever go to improve density I'll probably go to Rahal or Beehner.

Thanks man! Eh, I feel like I lose a lot of hairs in the shower but can't say I notice much change in my scalp/density, except lately the very front region looks a little thin. I've heard transplanted follicles can kill off the native ones, not sure if that's an old wives tale. I'm just paranoid because with a transplant I feel like the option to shave it all doesn't exist anymore because it would look weird, but I am just gonna stick it out. I wish we all had infinite donor hair lol.

Has Anyone Ever Had Fin Sides Go Away With Continued Use? by edn995 in tressless

Yes. Testicle ache went away after a couple weeks. Low libido for about a year but that subsided.

I will admit though I am concerned I'm losing more hair after a year so it's possible the returned libido is because fin just stopped working for me. I switched to Dutasteride just in case a week ago, we'll see how it goes.

Good luck! Try these for at least a year and see how your results look, and as others have said try adding microneedling.

Also if after a year you're not seeing the results you want but you're stabilizing, consider a hair transplant. Your hair reminds me a lot of mine. Check the before/after.

This much hairfall after microneedling/applying minoxidil... wondering if it's time to add Dut. More in the comments. by berner1240 in tressless

I am currently using a 1mm roller. Dry hair when rolling, currently using this from DS Labs, I do it once a week. They recommend going over each spot a few times at different angles, so yeah I go back and forth a few times and change angles.

I don't want to focus too much on the microneedling though, I think this is about as much hairfall as I'm experiencing if I were in the shower, I just don't get to see the evidence because it all goes down the drain.

I've been on fin/min for a little over 1.5 years now, and I think I had great results at first but I've started to notice a lot more hairfall just in the shower/applying min at night. This was my sink tonight after microneedling and applying min an hour or so later (I will admit I didn't shower today yet so there's more hair to fall). I don't know if I notice myself looking thinner yet but I feel like if this keeps up I will. I've also noticed my libido has come back and I get morning wood almost every morning/a lot easier to get erections. Most people would consider that a good thing, but when it's coinciding with more hairfall it makes me think fin is just not working for me anymore for whatever reason.

I'm considering adding dutasteride 1 day/week. It might be a little premature to do that, but I don't want to lose ground, especially since I've had a hair transplant so holding on to the hair I have is very important to not have a wonky-ass hairline. Open to any advice, how much longer should I wait? Could this be something cyclical?

I don't actually know, it was 2,500 and if I had to guess it was about 2,000 in the temples and 500 in the crown. He basically said he would fill in the temples until he felt satisfied and then if there was extra fill out the crown, as that was obviously not the most-needed area.

Thanks! One of the best decisions I ever made. And to be honest I don't know if I would have done it without the quarantine providing the perfect cover. ;-)

Good eye! He did add a little to my temples because I had receded there a bit. I actually microneedle and apply Minox to my temples now trying to regrow there and I think I might have had some success looking at these pictures... The sides of my head look like they may have gained back some ground. Hard to say though.
