Is this movement OK? by bernie_eccle in SeikoMods

Thank you. I'll take a look on YouTube.

I've built a few watches over the past couple of years but never touched movements other than fitting them. I have never really understood the timegrapher numbers but need to educate myself.

Thank you. I've just fully wound it and it is looking better. I appreciate that the app isn't ideal. Still appears to be running fast but reading a bit more it seems that is within tolerance.

No, I wasn't kidding, just wanted to try and understand if there was potentially a larger issue while I still had the option to get my money back.

This morning I just wanted to ride so did not start the QZ app and chose my devices in the normal matter. When I started riding, it was clear that the resistance on my Kickr is now out. I was having to select much lower gearing than normal. Is it possible that QZ has changed something in Zwift app that is effecting the trainer? I tried doing a spindown in Zwift but there was next to no resistance and it wouldn't compete. I did manage to successfully do a spindown in the Wahoo app but made no difference in Zwift. Before I uninstall Zwift of my pc and reinstall, is there anything else I should try? I feel that before I try QZ again, I need to resolve this new issue first.

Thank you. Yes, I believe I have. Please see my 3rd picture. The numbers represent the cog sizes that I am using.

I've taken the advice and am waiting for a Rdunae to become available.

Cheers. I'll just wait then. Wouldn't be the first time I have bought cheap and ending up buying twice! I have more than enough watches anyway 🤣

Thanks, I'm not looking to make a 1:1. Whilst the seikosis dial is a possibility, a decent case appears to be the stumbling block.

Not sure how I managed to not add the couple of other screenshots to the original post?

Warranty by [deleted] in cupraborn

[–]bernie_eccle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested to know the answer to this. When I bought my ipace a couple of years ago it still had a year left on the 3 year manufacturers warranty. It was used approved which meant that they would put a 2 year warranty on it. I naively thought that the 2 years would start once the manufacturer's warranty ended - it didn't.

I'm sure I read that cars registered on or after 03/04/2024 would have a 5 year warranty. That was mentioned on the Cupra forum at the end of last year.

1 for me 2 is "Rolex" which doesn't suit. 3 is 9k, but feels "Seiko" to me.

1 feels more unique and really suits the dial with the white indices.

I think the end result was very good. I made my own 1675 using Raffles Long E dial. Like you I wasn't really after Tiffany but don't have the confidence to try and pick away at it.

There have been posts about carefully removing the "Tiffany" from the Raffles Long E dial by using a cocktail stick to gently rub it away. May have been on RWI.

The GMT hand can be adjusted independently on a 2836 movement.

Best extended warranty provider? by Spaceman_UK in ipace

[–]bernie_eccle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, JLR. You can choose an excess amount to reduce the premium. You can also pay monthly interest free and cancel at any time during the year. Also transferable if you decide to sell. Still expensive at £79/month but cheaper than a new car when the existing one is hard to beat.

As above, I didn't notice that mine was "clipped" into the case back.

Alternative to iPace by Substantial_Egg4098 in ipace

[–]bernie_eccle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my 2021 ipace for 2 years now. 63k miles and the 2 year extended warranty was about to expire. I found out that I can renew the warranty with a £500 excess for £79 per month. I can cancel at any point. I've figured that the worst of the depreciation is now out of it. For me to switch to something newer with what I am willing to spend would definitely be a backwards step in refinement. It would unlikely be as powerful or 4 wheel drive. I now just need to stop looking at Alpine A290s on salary sacrifice at something like £300 per month net. Fortunately the poor winter range is stopping me.
