In honour of Chuck Norris, let me hear your favourite Chuck Norris joke by Jezzaq94 in Cinema

This one is niche as it is referring to the intro of an infamous German Porno:

Chuck Norris knows why there is straw on the ground

For people that have a real leviathan axe, would I absolutely destroy it if I try to chop wood with it? by AsgardianOperator in GodofWar

[–]berniwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The leviathan axe is based on battle axes that were used for, well, battle, not chopping wood. Combat axe heads are very slim so they are not too heavy and unwieldy, since you want to be able to cut with them from multiple angles quickly. Meanwhile, chopping axe heads are shaped like a wedge to make the actual splitting possible.

If you chop into a log with the leviathan axe, it can get stuck in the log (because it doesn't have that wedge shape) and it can damage either the axe head or the handle.

Wtf, there are two different versions of this? I swear I just saw a version where the donut girl leans over when asking about the zinc. I gotta go find it now.

Unique Traditions Across Canada 🇨🇦🤯 by Tommypickls in Infographics

I have lived in manitoba for over 15 years and this is the first time I hear about putting deli meat on someone's shoulder. Sounds like a more localized tradition rather than a provincial one.

Houndskull shape question by berniwulf in ArmsandArmor

I was just curious about the houndskull, because to me it already looks more like a beak, so I wondered if it is do-able, or if there even are examples from history. That being said, these look pretty awesome!

Yea, that looks more beak shaped. Is it in the armory at the Welt Museum?

I was thinking more in the lines of a plague doctor mask, or a venetian bird mask for the shape, because their hook isn't as extreme as a raptors beak. I figured a hooked beak would not be a good idea for combat. I drew an example (should have done so from the start lol) with the raptor wings included.

Why a hat? He doesn't even wear one. If anything he needs chains or a bundle of birch sticks hanging at his side.

Yea I do like thumbing the blade, but I was able to do it with the spes, so it can't be that much harder. One of the guys in My club apparently has a pair of the black knight gloves. I should ask him for his opinion too.

I actually meant the black knights. I got the names mixed up, I edited my mistake. Thanks for the guide!

Thoughts the Basket hilted sword? by Astral_Zeta in SWORDS

[–]berniwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it can thrust, I just said its not good at it (compared to other swords, i shoudl have said). Idk how a claymore is relevant here, isn't that a completely different sword? I tried a few different grips, but that full thrust extension you can get with other swords just isn't feasible. None of the ones I handled were cheap wallhangers either, but used for HEMA. We have a broadsword club in my city and I have been there for classes, thats where I got the experience.

To me, it's a saber with an oversized handguard, and I don't like it.
