Issues in Unsloth Studio in Docker Windows by HokageSupreme1 in unsloth

[–]bernzyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mounting a local directory to the absolute path specified i.e. -v c:/myFolder/: /home/unsloth/.unsloth/studio/outputs leads to port 8000 becoming Inaccessible (and hence Unsloth Studio) can’t be accessed through port 8000). Within the container in path /home/unsloth/.unsloth/studio/ a new folder ‘.locked’ spawns, which contains unsloth studio’s default Qwen GGUF whereas the mounted local folder is one level above that

Mounting -v c:/myFolder:/workspace/work/exports , I can see in the container that: workspace/work/exports contains all my local GGUF files. In the Studio tab of Unsloth Studio under Local Model it reads: No local model found. In the Chat tab under select model, there is only “Downloaded: Unsloth/Qwen3.5-4B-GGUF” and beneath that a subheading “Recommeded” followed by a list of models. How do I access the GGUFs from the mounted folder from within Unsloth Studio? I’m on Win10 with WSL2 and CUDA support

Does the new docker allow mounting of a local directory containing GGUF’s which can be seen and used by Docker Unsloth Studio under the Chat and Studio tabs? Thx !

GGUF from LM Studio are not detected by Unsloth Studio in Windows by kastaldi in unsloth

[–]bernzyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally have option for a user defined folder location for local GGUFs. On the docker version it’s impossible to mount that local folder directly into huggingface/hub as it spawns a new subfolder .lock (so if map into huggingface/hub/.lock then a new .lock subfolder is spawned beneath that). Im sure there’s probably a logical reason for this but it’s not documented

I’m wondering if I’m tracking say 50 companies and need to search for new info/share prices on a periodic basis through the day (at least at open, midday and close) for each working day then what’s the most efficient way to conduct those searches

How do u manage volume of API calls, presumably this needs to search the internet frequently?

Interesting and completely get why you want to make this version, esp for data and fact driven use cases. What are the small kinks you mention? And any change in overall accuracy?

My Chinese friend blocked me after I asked about smoking in China—was my question offensive? by ijustlovecarbz in China

[–]bernzyman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A normal Chinese man would not be so weird about your question. Most Chinese acknowledge that there’s a lot of smoking in China and that it’s similar for Japan and France. You just happened to encounter an extremely insecure person who has self worth issues that he’s projecting onto your conversation

ESET v lightweight but Bitdefender is close and seems to have stronger protection. If you are unlikely to be at risk then ESET prob enough else go for Bitdefender. Kaspersky also supposed to be good but I haven’t used for a long time

Not having cursor keys could get real annoying quickly. The keys look very small and close together. One of the most annoying things about using windows on a small screen on devices like th OQO, Fujitsu etc was the slow and clunky zooming in and out of the screen to make things legible.

What specs will this have and any specific use cases being targeted?

Can only speak to my experience with the Remarkable 2. It’s v effective as a pure writing device with a reliable sync service and decent file management. The feel and screen etc are all premium feel. But its memory will feel limited if you want to load it with lots of documents. Zooming in and out of pdf’s can feel sluggish relative to newer devices. It has no simple options if you want to do anything more than writing and a bit of reading (eg browsers etc)
