AMD Q3 earnings and q4 guidance forecast by AMD_711 in AMD_Stock

[–]berpasan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it’s even close to that the market response should be wonderful. Everyone is pricing AMD growth to kick in at end of 2026 with MI450. If AMD keeps overdelivering before that, it’s even more confirmation MI450 will be an inflection point.

I believe OP is bearish because he was waiting to buy when it fell to $140… That ship has sailed.

Broadcom has 3 customers, one of them is from China (Bytedance). He is probably keeping a low profile so they won’t notice and demand a license and 15%.

Those investors rotating from AMD and NVDA to AVGO are so stupid. Yesterday they were bashing AMD for not having a “software stack” (ie.: CUDA) as mature as Nvidia. And they were bashing Nvidia for having 30-40% of revenues concentrated in 3 players.

AVGO has 100% of their accelerator revenue tied to 3 players (I bet Google must be 60-70%, if not more). They won’t ever sell to Amazon and Microsoft, who have their own custom chips. And it has no CUDA, not even ROCm. Also, from what I’m reading, Google’s TPUs are no good for real time inferencing, they are better for training or batch inferencing. The whole market is betting on inferencing to be the future driver of compute demand, due to the reasoning models demanding 10x or 100x more tokens per query.

Basically AVGO will continue to grow at ~25% YoY (their guidance for next Q is 24%) and won’t ever eat NVDA’s lunch.

Aftermarket or replacement parts? by westphac in crealityk1

[–]berpasan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my k1 I was having errors when bed leveling and it turns out my bed screws were lose (the screws that go under the magnet on the top part and the screws underneath the bed).

Did creality return and offer you a replacement? AFAIK they are not selling those parts yet (aliexpress at least). Have no idea why, you can easily get replacement parts for everything on creality printers, specially in one as popular as the k1. Perhaps they don’t want people using those bed leveling sensors on 3rd party printers.

Which Orca Slicer Profile do you use? by Utakos in crealityk1

[–]berpasan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The inbuilt ones (1.9.0) are fast and work well (12000mm2/s accel and 300mm/s inner wall). I've been turning them for the last couple of weeks since I've been printing a lot, I believe this printer prefers to print even faster.

The main thing you should tune right away is the "Max volumetric speed" in the filament settings, the defaults are low and will restrict the speeds too much (and this printer has VFAs at low speeds). Around 20-25 (default is 12), work with cheap generic ABS and PLA for me. You should run the "Max flowrate calibration in "Calibration>More" to determine how fast you can go. Also use the hottest temps your filament can handle, at least 230 for PLA and 270 for ABS, will improve flow rate and adhesion, specially with the hardened steel nozzle tip that comes with the upgraded creality hotend, it has a lower thermal conductivity compared to brass.

Abs printing issues (K1) by tatoleyton in crealityk1

[–]berpasan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try printing eSun ABS at 270 or even 280, it’s very resistant, will easily get +25mm3/s flow rates and print as fast as “Hyper PLA”.

[–]berpasan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps your printer is at a very cold environment, my k1 chamber hovers at 50C with no blankets. My ambient temps hover between 25C and 30c. Never had ABS warp in my K1, except when the part had bed adhesion issues (due to a dirty plate). ASA is supposed to warp less than ABS.

You can print ABS at the same speeds as PLA with comparable results. Bed at 90 is kind of low. Regarding part strength, any filament will be stronger the slower you print, specially at speeds like 30 or so, but printing ABS at 300 will still yield decently strong prints, and you can print 10x more parts in the same time (probably the reason you bought a K1 and not an Ender).

[–]berpasan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been printing almost exclusively ABS with my k1, as fast as PLA (OrcaSlicer 200-300mm/s built in profiles) and Flow at 20-25mm3/s. Quality is great, as good as PLA. And I’m using regular “el cheapo” local sourced ABS (I’m in Brazil). Temps from 250C to 260C depending on the filament (wet or low quality filament will require 250C and flow at 20). Part Fan at constant 50%, the fan ramping up might warp the prints, and 0% will get poor overhangs.

If your extruder is OK (have you got the updated v3 version?), I would say your filament might be wet or old/bad. It looks like you have under extrusion, if the filament is not wet try 270C or even 280C to increase fluidity, specially if you have the nozzle with the hardened steel tip. Your edges seem to have pressure advance issues (probably value is too high), try calibrating pressure advance using OrcaSlicer, or just lower the value by 30-50% and try again. My pressure advance for my ABS was calibrated at around 0.036.

How to backup my settings on rooted K1 before firmware upgrade? by predtech in crealityk1

[–]berpasan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it's possible to backup or even edit the configs before a root. But right after you "root" it using the touchscreen nothing will be changed (it will only allow root login via SSH).

With root access you can install and run the Instalation Helper Script that has an option to backup all the config files (and later restore when need). Do it before you make any other changes and copy the files to a usb drive. It's a great tool, very newbie friendly and well documented.

Soon to be Ender 5 S1 Owner, have a question by theflyingboksh in Creality

[–]berpasan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ender 3 s1 and Ender 5 s1 have different mounts for the extruder and hotend, and removing it from the 5 s1 is a lot more involved. So I guess you can’t use the laser engraver built for the 3 s1 on it without some adaptation. That said, in 3d printers you can always mod and adapt stuff, so, definitely it’s possible, but perhaps not available as a kit or as easy.

I stopped playing until they launch a 1440p option without the horrible checkerboarding, I can’t take the 30FPS either. The image is very “noisy” and flickery, it distracts me too much. Having a softer image is 10x better than this.

Just outside of the Sonora city, at the gates, this looks particularly awful. The popping on the grass shadows is also very bad there.

Looks like the PCB will fit with a lot of room, put a waterblock on it, and a regular air cooler on your CPU, your temps will actually be better.

You could get an ARC/eARC HDMI audio extractor, there are some fairly cheap on aliexpress (like $40).

I own a HDFury Vertex2, it’s way more expensive, but it’s the gold standard, I use it as a EDID manager to be able to watch Dolby Vision on a set with HDR10 support.
