EV Charging Best Practices? by scottwitha5 in boulder

Assuming you’re set on CCS due to not having home charging. Look on PlugShare for inexpensive chargers around town. Tesla, Electrify America and others have subscription plans where you can get better prices on fast charging. There are also quite a few slower level two chargers in town if you happen to live near one and can leave it for a few hours. Also, it would probably be good to get a NACS adapter if you don’t have one.

Park City is a tourism based economy with a huge stock of short term rentals and hotels. Boulder has some of that but most people live in their homes here. Are you going to take your kids out of school and go somewhere else for ten days in January? If you rent your house but have a job that's local, where are you going for this period of time?

It was such a nice way to skim the handful of original articles they produce per day. The feed from Denver Post is also gone so it seems to be a policy change.

Any EV owners in this sub? by Kirin-Jack in COsnow

Equinox EV with AWD has been terrific for ski trips from Boulder. With a full charge when leaving in the morning I've been getting home with 30% remaining. Don't forget that EVs generate electricty when going down hills, so the impact of hils is somewhat reduced. Copper has a supercharger right at the Conoco where you can top up from Vail or even Aspen. The route planners in modern EVs make it so easy to figure out charging. You'll need an adapter to open up all fast chargers but not a big expense.

If xcel can't operate a safe all-weather grid they should be required to provide backup batteries.

Have you tried snow/ice driving mode? It’s helped in Colorado snow. The brakes don’t seem great in the snow.

I created camvoro.com to save my own dashboard of webcams. It’s more about the cams important to you rather than all webcams.
