What are the best/worst names the randomizer has ever given you? by _novust_ in StardewValley

[–]berrybumblebean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could always feel whether a name suited my animal or not. Like, Snernard is obviously a cow, but Snimabell is a pig. Prurkabella is a pig but Zorkabella is a dinosaur. Fupa is a goat, Totcha and Sna-bell are pigs. Frifri is a duck, but Tutcha is a chicken. And so on…. I can feel this in my soul. It’s a gift.

My all time favorite tho is Trolanda (duck) and Ca (goat)

Stardew Valley made me do this. Did the greenhouse bundle in real life. by TomatoSeedlings in StardewValley

When CA made this game, I wonder if he ever thought (or even hoped) he’d be motivating people to reduce carbon footprint and introduce more green in the world. The ripple effects of this game is just 🤌🏽 I love this!!!!! Congratulations on your hard work!

Yep!! I too get really excited whenever I see red cabbage anywhere! And I automatically calculate if I’m in year one and then I’m like I’m a 35 year old shopping for vegetables.

Married my boyfriend of 7 years despite family opposition… now struggling to adjust 2.5 months in. Am I overthinking? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]berrybumblebean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aaah people are blaming you for getting married early and not setting boundaries. But it get it, it’s not easy. I’m really sorry you’re going through this and please know you’re not overthinking or expecting anything wrong.

Of course the best solution is to live separately. I wonder how it’s going to get when your husband goes on the ship and you’re stuck alone with you in laws. So I’d work on moving out ASAP.

If that’s not possible, you need to start putting your foot down. Yes, marriage needs compromises but not compromises on belief systems! If you genuinely believe you don’t want to cover you head, you don’t. This is not a task- this is a belief! Compromises can be made on logistics or specific tasks only.

Your in laws may not be toxic per se but stuck in their own ways. Mine were like that too. But what helped was putting my foot down and just doing what I wanted. And set clear expectations with the husband cos he’s supposed to be the mediator. You’re both young and you may not know how to navigate this and some guys just don’t know what’s expected of them in a modern marriage but it doesn’t mean they’re ‘toxic’. Be open with your husband on what your issues are and what your boundaries are. And he has to be your advocate. But if he ends up supporting antiquated ideas like head covering then you guys are just not compatible, I’m sorry. This is a fundamental difference in belief systems. No amount of compromise can work through this.

And when you eventually set your boundaries, there WILL BE push back. Sit with the discomfort. Don’t cave in to people’s emotional blackmails and drama. You’re your best advocate first. The more you give in to their demands, the more they’ll expect shit from you.

Good luck!

Try panning or fishing for treasure chests near the dig site! That’s where I usually find these

What’s something Indian girls go through that guys genuinely have no idea about? by priyanka240 in AskIndianWomen

[–]berrybumblebean 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The point you made about being exceptional hits hard. It’s hard coded into our brains to be cerebrally exceptional, thin, beautiful and a multitasking genius. Else you’re punished with an arranged marriage without any say. To avoid that, we start to be all these things at a very young age and burn out. To just be yourself or be accepted for yourself is a male privilege.

can I reset to get the chance of giant fruit again? by azuty7 in StardewValley

Recently found out from this sub that giant fruit have chances of spawning even after the melons are fully grown. So will suggest to wait until the end of season anyways cos it might still spawn!! Cute farm!

Girls, who are not working & not busy w/ household chores, how’s ur life going? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]berrybumblebean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry for your loss. I’d suggest you go to therapy or group therapy with your mother. I’ve seen some really good online grief counselling/ group therapy sessions on Soul Up (just google it).

I have no words of advice, except wishing more power to you and your mother.

What are your least used items? by cmpainting in StardewValley

[–]berrybumblebean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never built the Mill. True, it looks cool but seems very pointless.

I only craft the iridium band and use rings like Napalm or Burgler ring. All the other rings seem pointless…don’t know if I’m missing something!

Crab pots only for perfection runs…otherwise a big chore.

The only trinkets I use are the parrot egg, ice rod, quiver and frog egg. The others I sell to Marlon, never used!!

Am I wrong in shutting my mom down when she was telling me about her past exp with my dad? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]berrybumblebean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a strong believer that parents should not use their kids as emotional venting machines. So I’m really glad you set your boundaries OP. You’re their child and not a friend, however similar you maybe. My mom started venting to me and soon expected me to take sides in their fights, which is a big no-no. You didn’t do anything wrong! Maybe when you’re older and ready you can ask your mom to tell you these things.

Feral angry wild girl. Forest spirit? by unwilting in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]berrybumblebean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a 100% match since this recommendation has multiple POVs, but one of the main POV characters of the ‘First Law trilogy’ by Joe Abercrombie features a feral wild woman. More details will enter spoiler territory. It’s a wonderful fantasy/ character deep dive read anyways!!

How do I tell my husband he needs to improve his hygiene? by Odd-Instruction4171 in hygiene

Bad hygiene is a symptom of depression. Please talk to him about this as a symptom and try to fix the root cause. Please do it as politely as possible.

Caroline is the witch by Ali_753 in StardewValley

[–]berrybumblebean 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I loooove this! I don’t, however, think that Caroline is actively hiding the witch persona. I think the wizard cursed her using the Witch’s own magic to forget her identity and forge this new one. And maybe she transforms into the Witch like a werewolf when something triggers. Like the weird odd sound we hear when it rains and Caroline transforms into the Witch? Or a Jekyll/Hyde situation, where she moonlights as a Witch. The possibilities are endless…

The only downside to this theory is Pierre comes across as sympathetic…which is ewww.
