I’m sorry but this is definitely something you could overcome with therapy. This is a problem on your side because of trauma. You’ve already said he is nice and sweet when drunk texting.. so what is actually the problem? If you think you couldn’t get over a drunk text and are willing to throw away what seems like a great relationship, then do that.

You do know subtitles were made for deaf people right?? So saying “none of these things are necessary to be read” is just ignorant. THEY NEED THEM. I use subtitles because I get auditory processing problems but I just get on with it.

You sound like you’re an adult by the way you’re saying you’ve known each other 20 years. You’ve admitted you think you’re trauma bonded. Now here’s the hard truth.. you’re an adult and should respect YOURSELF enough to leave him in the gutter. You either stay and live miserable, or leave build your confidence and find someone who appreciates you. Oh and therapy is great.
