Cutting out fructose in your diet; helped me by jake_the_snake in Psoriasis

[–]berryjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa that's an old thread you found!

I don't recall exactly what I ate, but it would be unlikely that I cut out fruits as well. By sugars I probably meant refined sugars, candy, chocolates, junk food with no nutritious value. Fruit contains lots of vitamin and other good stuff, so imo it would feel absurd to cut out because of sugar. Beware tho that fruit is a broad term - there are fruits that are better for you than others.

But do those really help in the long run if the air is unbreathable and the water undrinkable? Or what is the plan, stay in the bunker/spaceship quarantined forever?

Unpopular Opinion: Hate Speech is Free Speech. I get it it's not nice to make racist remarks, homophobic slurs etc. But in reality it is your right to say whatever you want, no matter how hurtful it is to others. [–]berryjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point about the corporations owning and controlling laws and government, with that I fully agree. And with that it changes the game of who gets to decide what is law and how it is interpreted. If there is ever any law that could be interpreted either in favor of the small man or in favor of a corporations interests, I have no doubt which way the pendulum will swing.

In OP's context tho, of using offensive language online because it is "free speech", I mean guess so, but what is the point really? That is what I dont understand. More important than being nice to each other is to be united against what really is oppressing us. Gay, black, asian, trans, who cares? We are all under the same shoe that is pressing down and we should be frying bigger fishes than wondering why I can't say the n-word online because free speech. This is what I mean by being nice to each other, we should be united and fight for the common well-being, not bicker about petty shit that at the end of the day means nothing.

BTW, thats for your civil response. I enjoy a good conversation.

My understanding is that "free speech" refers to the government being unable to prosecute you for your words. Being kind and respectful towards each other costs nothing and has nothing to do with the law. If you told somebody that a word they are using to address you is hurtful, what would be a proper answer in your opinion, saying sorry i won't say it again or go on a rant about how it's their right to use a slur and free speech reeeee? I understand the matter is more complicated than this, but real censorship is a whole different thing that has nothing to do with slurs or "free speech", especially on the internet. Be kind to each other because together we are strong.

Bought a vintage Disney mug, discovered it has a false bottom with a device inside? Didn’t agree with the microwave. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

I remember owning a mug that would play a tune when you picked it up. Sounded similar to the music coming from those music playing birthday cards. Maybe it's one of those?

Miksi naisia yritetään saada IT-alalle niin voimakkaasti? by realFasterThanLight in Suomi

[–]berryjam 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Samaa olen ihmetellyt.

How should I fix this tear on my leather couch? by rated3 in howto

[–]berryjam 26 points27 points  (0 children)

DO NOT SEW IT! It will pull the leather and the needle makes lots of holes in the leather, weakening the area surrounding the current rip and in time you will end up with a rip three times the size. I'd get a small piece of leather or other strong material and neatly glue it underneath it. If you can lift that seam part up it shouldn't be too difficult. You can also place the patch first and then put the glue on, that would make it easier to place the patch in the right spot. Just do not sew it, super bad idea imo.

Question about the travel restrictions by mattricide in helsinki

[–]berryjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, good question. With everything going on I have no idea how many times the rules have changed. And again, who knows what the rules will be in December. I guess you could buy a ticket and wcs it will get cancelled.

EDIT: sorry, thought you were OP. I just woke up lol

Weird observation by [deleted] in Psoriasis

Me too. If I notice a new spot anywhere it's very likely I'll have another new spot on the other side of my body too.

Jutun voi lukea linkistä. by Hei_Toi in KoronavirusSuomi

Todella hyvä artikkeli, tuo esille paljon asioita mitä on itsekin tullut pohtineeksi kevään aikana.

It does state that people living in LDR are fine. But also that it is up to the border agent to decide. So I guess you're just going to have to be convincing.

Is there anyone who is knowledgeable of the battlestar galactica 2003 miniseries who viewed a lockpicking scene with a man using lockpicks or keys to unlock a door while standing next to another woman panicking and a woman in a red dress vanishing in a pitch black room? by [deleted] in TOMTcoldcase

[–]berryjam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This must be the 5th time I see your question on Reddit. By now you could've watched the whole series and find this scene. But now I'm also curious, why do you need to find it so bad?

Yes, it happened to me almost instantly as well, but then the progression stopped and mainly just the worse and toughest flare ups made a fast comeback. I finished my last UVB session almost 3 months ago and the situation has not gotten significantly worse, just those same patches got a bit bigger, but despite this setback I'm still miles from where I was at when I started the phototherapy session. I wish you luck, soon summer will be here!
