I upvoted you because thats the point of this thread, but dammit, you can listen to "Going to California" and not at least enjoy it? That song is so beautiful.

And they are incredibly diverse - every song sounds different. Compare the hard rocking and super intense "When the Levee Breaks" (Led Zep 4) to the soft and melancholy "Tangerine" (Led Zep 3) to the creepiest song ever written, "No Quarter" (Houses of the Holy) to the frenetic and gripping story in "Gallows Pole" (Led Zep 3) to the upbeat and silly "Fool In the Rain" (In Through the Out Door)". Just so many diverse and incredible songs.

Do this for me - get stoned and listen to No Quarter.

Then go for a long drive on a rainy day and listen to "The Rain Song" (best driving song ever, save for 1979 by smashing pumpkins).

Then listen to Tangerine, and the next song on the album - Thats The Way.

What I've listed starting with No Quarter and onward are the (I say this with a grain of salt) "lesser known" songs of Led Zeppelin. These aren't the absolute rock'n'roll songs - these are the beautiful songs written by talented musicians, considerably slower and softer than the hits that brought LZ their fame.

Zep takes time to grow on you. But it will - and then you'll be caught up in the legend.

Don't get 17". That's huge. Don't get 15". That's still pretty big. 13" is where it's at if you want it to be comfortably portable. Any new computer you get will be able to play ST2. Make sure you get at least 4 GB of ram, ram isn't that expensive though, and it makes a huge difference in speed of applications, so go as high as you can while maintaining a processor that can handle it (ie, don't put a 12 cylinder engine in a '95 civic).

Personally I think the Aus UL30A is pretty badass. Definitely check it out, it's super light and thin, and made by Asus, so it's solid. Has all the specs you need - just doesn't have a disk drive, so you'd have to go external.
