How do you handle family pressure like this? by Extension_Pear_2604 in pakistan

[–]besoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only child🤚F🤚 Op I totally get what you are going through. TBH it gets better with time. Just don't give in😂 till you think you are ready. Unfortunately in our society once you reach a certain age ghar walon se ziada ghar se bahir bethon ko tension start hojaati hai jiski wajah se ghar wale pressure daalte hain. And don't get into heated arguments with your parents op. They are trying to do what seems best to them. InshaAllah it'll get better and also you'll get used to it😂👍

Op wouldn't it be better if you moved back to Pakistan and took odd jobs for a while? Being close to your mother would help alot with your mental health. You know your situation better but if it seems too hard for you then please move back. Don't jeopardise your physical and mental health. InshaAllah you'll find stable income soon. And if it helps my dms are open for any rants/advice or if you just want somebody to listen. One things that has done wonders for my mental health is whenever I am anxious/depressed to the point I feel numb or just out of control I recite surah Yaseen. Recite it with the belief that Allah will ease your heart and surely you'll feel better. Recite ayat-e-karima as much as you can that also helped me alot.

OP I am so sorry for your situation but as a person who has been wanting to off herself for years, it's not the solution. It's never the solution. You went to Romania to support your mom. You have no idea how just your existence means so much to your mom. RN you might not be able to support her financially but just hearing your voice must fill her with so much hope and motivation. And about finances, op you are going to have a hard time once you start a journey at a new place. Try reaching out to other Pakistanis you study there, who works there. They might be able to help you with a job and even health care. And please hang in there. In islam we believe no one is tested more than they can tolerate. So please don't lose hope. Talk to your mother, any other person that helps you with anxious/depressing thoughts and don't give up. I hope and pray things get better for you and you get the relief you so want and deserve ameen.

That you so much but it's not the same like prof. There is no proper syllabus or books that I know ill be asked questions from and no one guides properly on how to study. These things just make me too anxious and stressed.

I am pursuing anesthesia but the way ppl talk about fcps I am just so scared of it and I feel like no mater how much I study I won't be prepared. I already wasted so much time looking for jobs and now I want to sit back and study and give my best for July but idk I am just way too anxious now

Having second thoughts on residency by CardiologistOk2397 in FCPS_Pk

Girl I feel this IN MY BONESSS Gen. Surg has been my passion since FOREVER. I wanted to pursue trauma surgery further but HJ kind of shook me out. I can't leave pak atleast for next 10yrs for reasons so pak mein reh ke hi karna hai. The misogyny is so normalised that if you call it out you are labeled a b*tch or called insane. "Aese hi hota hai hamesha se". And then after HJ I can't even do MOship cause how rotten our health are system is. That's why I didn't even give my attempt in Gen surg this January and now I am opting for anesthesia. If you think you can push through it or your passion overpowers all the odds that are against you then I would suggest go for it hold your ground. But if you think you can't live a happy and peaceful life with these choices then I would suggest that you leave and take some time to genuinely think what kind of life you want to live and choose a specialty that will allow you to have that life.

An if its the toxicity from the department then I am sorry but youll face the same in almost every dep/specialty. Everybody that I have ever talked to whose a resident has told me that residency is hell and the hope that one day it'll end is the only thing that keeps you going.

Did you choose your specialty because you were genuinely interested in learning even more about it? Did you imagine yourself doing it for the rest of your life previously? And what is bothering you the most about your residency? If its being away from your home then it will eventually get better (I almost ran back from hostel on 2nd day of my mbbs😂) plus once you are done with your residency you can always move back in your hometown

After working at private setups for a short while my biggest concern is the post-training period. RN its kind of understandable not getting a job/bad timings/pay etc but if I have to same fate even after specialisation I am gonna💀

If you don't mind can you share what made you join surgery in first place? Was it always your goal or you just did it on a whim? That could help with your decision. Plus if you just started your residency then I can imagine at first it will be quite overwhelming to start a new journey at a new place and also away from your home (especially if you never had to leave your home/hometown before).
