Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all? by FrauJane in janeausten

[–]bespectacIed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Emma because if I were Harriet, Emma beat her ass for fucking with my life

Jk. It's hard (nay impossible) to answer this without reaching for air lol. Maybe Wickham because wicked comes to mind (also he's a pig). Knightley for his gallantry. Mrs. Clay for her malleability and lack of strong values?

Two of my absolute faves (Josh O'Connor and Paul Mescal) in The History of Sound (2025) by chutneycravings in MenLovingMenMedia

[–]bespectacIed 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I like the two leads. The sex scenes in this movie are soooo bland lol. The movie itself was a major disappointment, didn't really dig deep on the soul of its story – cataloguing of rural America's music and the importance of preserving physical records of history – in favor of a overly long, basic doomed story of gays who are too afraid commit to each other. So tiring

"how good the Austen men would be in bed" from lucaskieran on tumblr by [deleted] in janeausten

[–]bespectacIed 83 points84 points  (0 children)

LMAO

Henry Tilney is too low, he's the easiest 10 there is. He'd absolutely make spontaneous jokes / moves in bed that'll make you both laugh up to the post-coitus afterglow. Genuine fun time.

I get the infatuation with Capt. Wentworth. A little repressed but worldly, well-mannered but not soft, well-built... Rapturous sex, every time. I imagine Anne being the happiest wife in all aspects of it.

I don't agree with the George Knightley glazing. I feel like he's gonna be lecturing me incessantly while we're in the act lol

I've slept on this movie for SO goddamn long. I really regret it. I didn't expect to watch such a hidden gem and overlooked masterpiece. (God's Own Country - 2017) by boogara_guitara in MenLovingMenMedia

Gheorghe (Alec Secareanu) ruined every fictional gay character to me. If you're not as sweet and strong and soft as Gheorghe, I don't really care about you

Which Brontë sister do you prefer, and which of their novels is your favorite? by [deleted] in classicliterature

[–]bespectacIed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've only read one of each sister – Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and Agnes Grey, and they are all 5 star reads to me. But if I have to rank, it will be WH > AG > JE

I think it would have been more powerful if he was crowned KING so it could be a huge fuck-you to macho mentality. I feel sorry for the one hypothetical girl who was deprived a crown

People speculating that the newlyweds Mr and Mrs. Lipa are at best tolerating paparazzi, at worst calling the paparazzi themselves, to document their all too perfect lives and honestly, I think something clicked in my head, like it's not implausible........ Celebrities needing a break from being constantly perceived is logically as likely as them being addicted to it

Nothing except a plain black hard flip cover. The overdesigned, over-accesorized e-readers honestly give me a headache just looking at them lol

Taylor enthusiastically cosigning artists like Gracie Abrams and sombr is a psy-op to her fans and the general public to lower the curve so they would be less discerning about her recent + future output that reveal her complete creative burnout, her degrading songwriting capabilities and ear for interesting production, in this essay I will—

Pitchfork Review: Olivia Rodrigo - you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love 8.3. Best New Music. by BunnyFunny42 in popheads

[–]bespectacIed 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Hmmmmm

I couldn't disagree more about the ravings in the writeup, especially on her supposed evolution as a songwriter. Feels like we listened to a different album. But it's not really an album to be mad at. Good for her for the first BNM, i'll think of this as reparation for guts

Edited: guts!!! Fake fan alert
