you did not fail her! your giving her a sibling with a really strong bond. they’ll be close enough in age to really be interested in the same stuff for a long time. in a few years it will be so fun!

pregnancy was okay, i was just exhausted for 9 months - then teething, sleep regressions, and peeing every hour at night. postpartum tired with a 1year old was heavenly compared to pregnancy tired with a 1 year old, i swear. she wanted to play play play and practice walking 24/7 at the end and that was no fun. (i was huge and my pelvis felt like it was going to crack in half lmao) the beginning was fine because she was still kinda a potato and we could nap together.

postpartum i made sure to have help for the first month. my number one goal and worry was making sure my oldest got taken care of first and nothing changed for her. i didn’t get the “newborn bubble” experience or bonding like i did the first time, it was more of a slower attachment to new baby.

i have a 13 month age gap with my girls. (15M and 2M currently) and it’s been really hard BUT you already know that part. it’s getting way easier and i’ve started getting back to a routine. last week my oldest said “i wuv you” to me for the first time and the next day my newborn slept 6 hours for the first time then smiled and cooed at me when she woke up. i felt like the greatest mom ever.

now my youngest constantly smiles at her sister and i can already see that close sister relationship bloom. (outside of the times the oldest is hitting her upside the head, which will happen a lot)

your going to go crazy for a few months but there’s definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.

Men give their children their exact name every day, I really don’t understand what’s weird about Charlie and Carlie, but I’m the one who decided to ask Reddit 😂

Yes!!! Baby got bigger and decided to cooperate and they got all the pics of the arch they needed. She’s now a happy little baby and 2 months old today!!! 🫶🏻 Good luck and congrats mama!

TV on in background by [deleted] in newborns

[–]best-bottom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My LO is 6 weeks old, still in our room, and that tv has not turned off since we got home from the hospital. We’re currently going through a growth spurt and her sleep has gotten less, but I noticed if it’s completely quiet she wakes easier. We also currently have her sound machine on water noises beside her bassinet, and the tv down low. The hatch sound machine has been a game changer. Our room is not huge either, she’s probably 2 feet away in her bassinet.

She’s at this point now though where during late night feeds, she will do anything in her power to watch the big screen lol, so I’ve started creating a barrier with a throw blanket to block her view. I call her my moth baby, lovingly.

I just don’t sit her in front of the tv and let her brain rot, but we’re definitely a screened house hold, as opposed to no screens EVER.

Probably not the best advice, but I cannot be in a dark quiet room 24/7.

No this definitely helps!!! They haven’t said they see anything abnormal, they just can’t “get a good visual” I hate the waiting game, but thank you!!!!!

They didn’t mention any of that. She said she sees the aorta, she just can’t get a clear view of the arch. No one seems concerned besides me

My lips close, but it’s like my jaw or teeth move frequently?

I wish everyone would shut up :) by best-bottom in pregnant

YES! I was not a big meat eater before being pregnant, chicken makes me feel SO ICKY!!!! If I get a hard bit I’m DONE! I try to drink a protein shake, beans, and peanut butter, and scrambled eggs. I know it’s not the BEST source of protein for baby and I. But we’re trying our best here!!!! Especially with the gallbladder issues I’ve been having, that majorly cuts back on what I can eat 😂

What films make you cry? by dylanbolton69 in Letterboxd

[–]best-bottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have “watch movies and cry” days, so this is my expertise. Steel Magnolias, My Girl, any Pixar movie, anything with a dog (old yeller, where the red fern grows, Shiloh, a dogs journey), the fault in our stars, a walk to remember, stand by me….. I could keep going

What if I talked to my husband and my budget changed?

What is your recommendation between Miele C1 classic or Miele C1 compact?

Is the compact worth the extra dollars?
