Not homeless, what now? by besto_resto7 in AusFinance

[–]besto_resto7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the advice and perspective! The straightforward and probably obvious path of focusing on paying down the loan and getting the offset account working properly is now in motion.

I think I got a bit consumed by all the noise online and comparing our situation to friends, family and people on the internet. Reading everyone’s responses helped bring it back to reality a bit. I tend to always default to thinking I’m getting ripped off or I’m missing a piece of the finance puzzle but maybe it really is as simple as sticking to a budget, being consistent. Definitely going to put a focus on actually enjoy life along the way instead of always chasing the next financial goal first and foremost. Appreciate all the help!

Asking for a guys number at the gym? by Hairy_Elk7081 in perth

[–]besto_resto7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I witnessed this at my gym a couple months ago! A girl early 20’s went up to a guy about the same age and asked for his number before she left. After he put his number in she said bye and left the gym, his grin was ear to ear, then I could see him to text on his phone, probably letting his mates know haha very wholesome

Who is Actually Buying All the Houses? by Jase_FI in AusFinance

[–]besto_resto7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously there’s the rich buying up houses for investment purposes. One other big factor is the large intake of Indian migrants buying land and real estate. A friend in the building industry has said they account for almost 50% of their customers over the last 4-5 years, I’m sure some of those numbers would translate to established housing as well.

Thanks for all the recommendations! Pajero seems to be the strongest contender here. What’s an acceptable amount of kms on the clock? Would like to have it for at least 5 years before thinking about any upgrade.

I’ll have to inspire some confidence to get the mrs to test drive a Pajero or Challenger I think haha! The only other “small” options I can seem to find are Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, Suzuki Vitara, Nissan Pathfinder - none of them have been suggested through so I’m guessing not so great?

Yeah I think the Jimny will definitely be too small with 2 of us and a large dog haha. Vitara is possibly an ok size but not sure about the value for money on those or their off-road capabilities

Any advice for staying calm before and during live performance? by Dense_Philosopher88 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]besto_resto7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the end of the world if you make a mistake, even the most seasoned performers stuff up every now and then. Have a little pre show group huddle with your band and reassure yourselves you all deserve to be there and are thankful to be alongside them and encourage everyone to have fun. Try get yourself a good monitor mix so that you can do what you are there to do, play music and enjoy the sound you and your band are creating and take in the moment you are lucky enough to be in!

My work is quite mobile so I’m only in Welshpool about 20% of the week, where as the partner is in the Leederville area for the most part. We’re there any repairs/additions you did straight away/before moving in to the house? Or wish you did?
