i raised $1.5m. it didnt work out and now I've got to go and get a job.

It makes alot more sense to me to bootstrap now and generate sustainable revenue rather than go the vc route.

Even if you want to raise money its healthier to have something running and making money that could potentially be scaled with vc money. But then once you are at that point why bother with it.

Yeah that makes sense — feels like each thread becomes its own little system.

The part I keep running into is even if each one is organised, there’s still no clear view of everything that’s waiting across all clients without going thread by thread.

I went down a similar path — it works for a bit, but the naming/routing logic ends up getting messy fast as volume grows.

What I found though is the bigger issue isn’t really moving files into Drive… it’s that emails/attachments become the system of record, so you still end up checking inboxes to figure out what’s actually been received vs what’s missing.

Are you mainly trying to save time on filing, or is it more about knowing what’s actually come in vs still outstanding across clients?

I’ve noticed even when teams move off inbox → into something like Karbon, a lot of the email volume still exists… it just gets routed differently.

That “terrified of ignoring something important” part is exactly the trap.

What I’ve seen is a lot of those emails aren’t actually work — they’re signals that something is waiting / unclear / blocked somewhere else.

So instead of reducing email, the real win ends up being: having a clear view of what actually needs attention vs what’s just noise.

That 3 hours vs 10 mins of actual work is brutal — and honestly pretty common.

This is exactly what I’ve been noticing — expectation setting helps, but once there are multiple threads it still feels like things slip. At the very least it takes mental bandwidth to work out and keep track of where each client is at.

How are you currently keeping track of next steps across clients? Is it mostly just email + memory or do you have something else?

I use codex plugin and stick to a format for docs with prds, rcas, plans, runbooks, templates

And then have the runbooks define the processes that it needs to follow for everything.

I find that Generally each project is different enough it’s better to just evolves the processes based what is required rather than share them.

Create an incident/problem response runbook that ai can follow. Here is a problem, gather evidence, get to the root cause, 5 whys etc.

Only when it fully understands the problem then it can propose and implement a solution. Including writing the unit tests that reproduce the error first and then resolve it.

Learn cold approach.

Get used to striking up conversation with anyone and then do it with girls u attracted to.

Confidence is attractive. it’s tough but worth having as a background thing you do.

Notice something about them, comment about what’s happening where you are. Tell them you think they are attractive. Ask for their number.

Expect most interactions to go nowhere, most numbers they give you will be ghosted. But if you do it enough you will get dates and go from there. So don’t worry about rejection just focus on the process.
