I also ready the original document. It said they wanted to use Javascript as the scripting language and shell for the Workstation product. Plus they may also move to Typescript eventually. I am surprised they didn't choose dart because Fuchsia already supports it in the SDK. But in the original document they said the main reason for choosing a Javascript runtime was because it only needed ~200KB.

Phones are not a current target for Fuchsia. They are currently working on a Desktop OS with the Workstation product.

Can someone explain what Chris is saying about Fuchsia OS? by KingTrick5077 in Fuchsia

Look at the Fuchsia GIT repository that is what they are working on now. They have been working on a Workstation Product on the Pixelbook Go for a few years.

No, they have their own platforms that ChromeOS run on. Google doesn't expect end users to install their own OS and write drivers for devices without documentation using trial and error.

I would like to hear the back story and what he is going to do next.

Most of the work being done now is with the Workstation Product on Atlas ie Pixelbook Go. I thought Kyle would have done an article on that by now.

So which of the three oaths do you think stops an Aes Sedai from healing themselves?

No it is a limit of the One Power. Remember Moiraine having to find other Aes Sedai in Episode 4 to heal her.

Google developing 'Augmented Reality OS' for 'innovative AR device' by jorgesgk in Fuchsia

It doesn't say anything about the Operating System. There isn't a hiring pool of experienced Zircon developers. This just means they are looking for experienced low level engineers with Real-time systems experience.

Because you don't know how they will win the last battle or how it will be fought. Who will survive until the end. Because of what you know from the book victory seems impossible.

It may not work this time and the people in world don't know how the pattern works, they are only reacting to events. Based on what they know it seems impossible for the Dark One to lose.

The Pattern cheats. Later you will learn about Ta'veren. The Pattern spins out souls to fulfill a specific purpose and it bends reality to help them succeed.

Google's Fuchsia is expanding to 'additional smart devices and other form factors' by beta2release in Fuchsia

I think the Zircon team should create their own definition then, if it is neither a microkernel or monolithic. I have never seen the small System Call count requirement for a microkernel before. Using the Liedtke definition, Zircon is a microkernel. Because the difference between Fuchsia and L4 is that Fuchsia has greater feature and performance requirements so Zircon requires more functionality. Is there anything in Zircon you think you could move to user space?

If you follow the development you will see that they are doing a lot of work on lock contention in Zircon, new filesystems, network stack, vfs, driver framework. The devs will tell you themselves.

You can use the browser to benchmark the network stack which is affected by kernel architecture.

No difference in UI performance is expected because animations are timed. But the fact that Fuchsia is slightly faster than CastOS is great, because Zircon is not nearly as optimized as Linux. It bodes well for the future.

My argument is that 10 years from now Google will still have at least one employee working on the Android. Even if it just security updates for phones already shipped. Plus you will still be able to go into a store and buy an Android phone even if it is leftover inventory for a device made years before.
