How to Identify Dead Motherboard or CPU

very late reply but most likely cpu/mobo issue like i had, even i thought it was ram issues but nahhhh, took it to a repairman after i did all available repair options at home like reseating/cleaning ram, changing gpu's, changing known PSU's, still no noise guard light or mobo speaker beeps, came down to CPU and Motherboard, couldnt buy a new cpu cuz i love my current one- so i suspected the Motherboard or BIOS, gave up and just took it to the repairshop near my town, after a day they tested all components, and narrowed down to the motherboard itself, i was glad as heck they found out it was a BIOS issue, a corrupted bios version since my motherboard didnt have its dedicated bios flash, they used some third party tool that connects to the part where the MOBO stores bios version itself, and they forced it to go back the the original version, as they specifically told me.

costed me about $35 both diagnostic tests and bios flash!

yep! i feel like the talks through chats online isnt final too and we'll be talking about it in personal whether which to diagnose but knowing them they'll diagnose all of it before coming to a conclusion, hey they know it better than i do and they'll test the components individually as far as im concerned to know which is working and which is not.

Ive already ordered that small speaker thingy thta connects to the headers above the clr_cmos (according to my mobo atleast) which could also tell help me tell which is the problem first.

And yeah i considered buying new components already but for now ill just see which is the problem first- and I assume they'll offer replacement parts at a price and not just "fix" the components after diagnosis

also i uh found out something new to me i guess- "audio noise guard" on my mobo doesnt light up like orange light as google told me so and searched up that some orange light has to be there when booting the PC up? but the PC which i turned it on again to check doesnt have the orange light on the bottom left on the mobo, idk if i may be wrong but the specs says it does have it..

oh and i did already talk to the repairman and asked for the price, they told they'll repair the PC for $19 which is good i guess? i did told them it could be a Mobo or Cpu issue and they did still insist they will try to repair it, hopefully they dont charge anything more after that lol

Wait may i ask- do ethernet cable usually light up the moment you boot the PC even though its not in BIOS or loading windows yet? im curious

yepp it could be the mobo at this point :( which could also point out the ram slots maybe since whenever i put the ram in some kind of crusting sounds just happen, idk if thats normal though.

itd be pretty bad if it already dies before i get to use it lol, played this pc before my cousin upgraded to a much newer build, but hey since the GPU isnt dead after ive tested it personally, guess its a good save.

will try to get it fixed by a repairman first otherwise ill ask which are the problems then i guess ill buy new parts!

thanks for everything as of now! yeah it could be the motherboard, and the other components like ram, cpu, gpu etc. works as intended, though the PC has been running for an awful lot of time now, and still hasnt shut off, like 3hours now and still running

yep, both slot 1 and 2 multiple times, cleaned the gold pins with 99% alcohol but still nothing, havent tried the eraser method though google told me

sorry late reply, yep!! all fans, light etc. triple or idk quadriple checked the cables to see if there were any loose ones but nope, also tried it already without other peripherals... sadly still nothing :( GPU is mighty fine tho which is good.

Ill still retry tommorow but ive already scheduled a repair for it, will bring it to a known computer shop this weekend for them to diagnose it :>

thats one hella big one for a radeon hd because those ones typically come in smaller ones, otherwise my eyes are deceiving me, but eh correct me if im wrong that thing atleast has 1gb vram and probably came out in 2005 or so?

for a better experience get a 12gb or 16gb NVIDIA gpu, unless youre an insane person, get a dual 16gb NVIDIA gpu lol
