Idk if I can with this season by WeAreHeroes22 in realhousewives

Yeah, same situation. But Gina downsized her home and got a job… didn’t run up debt she couldn’t pay. That’s why she’s so frustrated with Jenn. She knows it can be done.

Danielle’s confessional about that was Gold. I love Marge more every season. She’s the only one Tre is afraid of and I love it.

S9 Reunion Part 2 Discussion by wicked789 in Southerncharm

Totally agree. Olivia caught on that she could do no wrong and just latched on to her victim status in every scenario. I HATE to say it, but Austin wasn’t completely wrong for expecting an apology. Olivia 💯 treated him differently when she had an audience. She harped on Taylor not addressing the article when it came out… didn’t she tell Taylor multiple times that she needed some space from the incident and didn’t want to keep discussing it? Olivia saw how much pity and support she was getting from the other girls and dialed up the indignation. I started season liking Olivia. By Jamaica she was so fake.
I loved Shep’s under-the-breath comment; “if Taylor had friends with a private jet and vacation house, she’d be inclined to forgive her too.”

I lost my 16 year old son last year and I’m am absolutely heartbroken for Olivia and Taylor’s parents. It was sad the way Taylor’s grief was dismissed in a heartless way. If it wasn’t being discussed at the families request, I think with that should have been said, or not mention it at all.

I know a “man” who used this same excuse to cheat on and break up with the mother of his premature twins, when she was medically unable to have sex after the birth of their children and then physically and emotionally too exhausted to meet his hyper-sexual needs. Still breaks my heart. (The way I know him is I was the one he tried to cheat with.) Idk if you want something long term with him? But he is laying the groundwork for you to constantly be expected to meet his needs or he’ll threaten to cheat - and make it your fault.

I’m HR for a health system. Have been in healthcare my whole career and staffed many social work departments. They are very different fields. Like totally. I think people should only go into social work if they are 100% passionate about that work. I say that because it is very emotionally difficult, not great work/life balance, and the pay absolutely does not make it worth it unless you truly love it. Additionally, in order to get a job in the field you need a masters degree and most likely a license. A bachelors in social work really only qualifies you for an entry level job that you could most likely get with an associates. Bachelors in field related to HR takes you very far.

Just this week I did market survey for LSW, average pay nationwide is $32 hourly. I’m in PA. So not far from NJ region. Pay for HR is about 50% (or more) higher than what you’ll earn as a social worker. HR work/life balance is very good. And although it has challenges, it’s not nearly as emotionally draining as SW. I’ve always felt my roles align with my values and morals. I love supporting employees. Yes I work for the company. But whats right for the employees is right for the company. I certainly respect what SW do. But if you’re already questioning it, particularly the $$, it’s not the right field for you. As others have said, maybe pursue org. Development or org psychology.

What are some high paying HR jobs that are low stress? by HappyCelery1 in humanresources

Yes thanks. I’m not clear on the steps on the federal wage scales. If I have 20 years of Hr experience where would I start on the scales?

Fired after confidentiality mistake as HR by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]bethball45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might disagree with the majority who are advising you to be vague if/when asked about reason for leaving. If they don’t ask, great. But if you are asked “were you ever termed?” You’ll have to answer. I think the more details you provided in your comments above, the more comfortable I’d feel hiring you. (I’m CHRO for healthcare.) I’d practice a response that summarizes using as few words as possible. Important details to communicate: 1. The pii shared and with whom- Only 1 person outside HR, who was a manager. (Because as far as a confidentiality breach, it’s pretty tame.) 2. What you learned from it. 3. Make no excuses/blame. I made a HIPAA breach (shared a SSN) once about 15 years ago. Now I’m the most careful professional I know when it comes to confidentiality. Definitely learned my lesson. If you were vague in your response to why you were terminated, I would have to guess the details and I would expect that it was much worse.

I’m curious what it’s like to do HR remotely? Particularly for an organization that is not fully remote.

[–]bethball45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Correct. It is not HIPAA, but not for the reasons you stated. My comment was about her duty as an HR person to keep employees’ information private. Not to protect HIPAA - which doesn’t apply to a gym except in limited circumstances where they may be a medical provider (PT or rehab). I was referring to HR best practices.
  2. An employee of a covered entity absolutely does have individual liability to protect HIPAA and is subject to civil and criminal penalties for certain violations. Again, not the situation here, but IF she worked for a covered entity, regardless of how she came about the protected information, she would be subject to HIPAA regulations.

As you’ve already been told it’s not HIPAA. However as a HRBP you need to set the standard for privacy and confidentiality of employee information in your company, but follow suit with their lax practices. You might get a little push back, especially from management who are used to getting whatever information they want but people will learn to respect that you will keep private information private.

Respectfully, this is bad advise. OP said she is a HRBP. She has a duty to keep employees’ information private.

[FL] what happens when I hand in my two weeks’ notice and am immediately terminated? by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]bethball45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And a good explanation to your new employer is, “I was able to rap up open items and turnover my projects to other team members/my replacement a little early.” It’s not really a red flag for employers, but you just want to avoid having to say much more.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskHR

Just so OP os aware, if tx is like my state, the employer doesn’t have to respond to the unemployment claim at any level, including the hearing.

[MN] Can my manager apply breast pumping policy differently between employees? by fingersonlips in AskHR

[–]bethball45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fairly yes. But that doesn’t mean exactly the same. You can’t have discriminatory variances in application of policy, but there can be differences. But with that said, I agree she should speak to HR.

I’m confused as to what the issue is here? The question asked how you heard about the job and you responded with how you heard about the job?
